Holy cow - these are THE hardest roof racks I ever installed. Took me over an hour to install.




Why is it soo hard? Old tech? I do appreciate its not a gutter mount.

 

I only install mine when I need them, then they come back off. They can gat noisy on the highway, and I do a lot of highway driving. The more you put them on and off, the better you'll get at it. I can install them now in about 15 minutes, taking my time. It helps to loosen the cross bar bolts so the end clamps can float. Then, once the end clamps are positioned and tightened down, snug up the cross bar bolts.

 

Thanks for the feedback. Thats good to know. After that ordeal I didnt think I will ever take them off. Although this car will do full duty of carrying bikes so likely will always be needed.

 

Yep they have a little different then most cars. Also the R56 does not have built in roof racks already so all you need is those cross bars like the Countryman/Clubman and other cars.

 

Yea I watched that. Yea using a hammer is def not the answer I watched another video and had a better explanation

@ECSTuning - thanks for shipping me the racks. Came in a scratched from lacking packing material. Wish a bit more care was put in by the shipping dept.

Ok, yep it might have shipped directly from MINI then out to us. We have seen some of those come in scratched from the factory. They dont have the best box for all of those no matter MINI or BMW.

I will let them know.
