Just had Roof Rails installed !

I am so happy I took the plunge on this

ordered rails from Mini Dealer and had a local shop install them

They did a fantastic job!

Anyone in the Austin Area looking to do this go to

Any installation photos?
Are these the OEM onee drilled and mounted to the roof; not the cross-bars?

Sorry, no install photos had the shop do it .

Yes these are the OEM ones that run down the roof and are drilled in with 5 bolts on each side.

I am very curious about this. I've seen the Rack Attack write ups and pics. I also saw where someone in GA did a DIY install on roof rails. I have done a lot of research and thinking about roof rails vs. OEM cross bars and bottom line is that they were going to be hard/impossible to order, at least through dealer, let alone get installed. I spent some time talking with techs at dealer about doing a proper install with no damage to airbags etc. It was not going to be an easy or cheap after-the-fact thing to have done. At least here in GA.

I thought long and hard about who would drill holes in MY roof. Didn't easily find anyone willing and able (for less than some serious $$ and convincing).

I am glad to hear people have been able to pull this off. I am getting OEM roof crossbars this week (hopefully).

Total cost was $750

I would do it again in a heartbeat

maybe I would have ordered it from the factory with it if I had the choice

Now to fit my Yakima racks on the rails, I can't stand that the factory rack has some silver on it .

I'll post pics when its all together

Thanks for all the compliments !

veg1515, Would you mind posting a closeup photo of where the "bolts" attach to the roof? Also, can you post a link to the OEM rails and their costs? Thanks...

Very cool. It would be worth the drive to Austin. Bought my Clubbie used and it came with the roof racks, which I hate. I recently bought the bike rack for it, but it is a pain to put on and take off since I don't leave the main racks on. They are noisy and kill my mileage. Rails are more streamlined and quieter, I assume. Had rails on a RAV4 previously and never had issue with them.

How long did install take? I might go up to Austin to take care of it and visit family.

MBU the bolts are under the headliner I do't have a good pic of them . There will need to be two holes drilled for each bolt(total 5 bolts for each side)

here is a tread with some good pics

I purchased the Oem rails from the dealer they cost about $180 each side plus another $20 for the bolts . You can just go to the dealer and they should be able to get them for you. There is a OEM parts place online that has them as well

I bought my car used as well , so the racks were missing and i feel the Clubman has to have these car looks way better plus its more practical for hauling my mountain bike around .
They could have your install done in 1/2 a day , mine took a little over 6hrs but the next one will be quicker for them .

The longest part of this was waiting for the dealer to get the racks in .

oh anf BTW the dealer will install these for you but at Mini of Austin the wanted around $700 for labor alone.

Just intalled the Yakima Railgrab on the bars and they fit well

Now its time to hit the trails .
