Tachometer Light issue

Hi everyone

i have 2013 mini cooper s and i bought one of the new head units that comes with a touch screen and carplay i bought it from ali express (hopefully i it is not a huge mistake) had everything installed and it is working fine except when i plug everything the lights in the tachometer doesn’t work however the screen in the tachometer works it is just the lights that doesn’t when i just plug the old tachometer everything works fine but i am wondering if anyone can help me figure out the issue or at least direct me in the correct direction

This is the screen i am using

When the new screen installed

This is the original speedometer

Everything goes back to normal when i plug the original speedometer

thank you in advance

Mine did the same thing. Ended up being I had the cable circled in backwards. Not a fan of their plug in, could go in right or wrong.

Yes, in my 1st reply I circled the connector to the Android radio that I had in upside down or back wards. That plug could go in either direction, the way I had it in originally was wrong. Flipped it 180 and plugged it in and problem solved.

The plug is what communicates with the CAN system of your car.

BTW, one of my 1st additions to the car was an oil gauge and water temp as well. Very similar setup.

i tried to flip it to the other direction it doesn’t look like it wants to get plugged i have been trying to over an hour it is just not getting plugged

This extra plastic piece is preventing it from getting plugged
