tach display issue

tach display issue
I have a 2009 Clubman JCW. Lately I have a random thing happening. The 2 digital display boxes in the tach are sometimes working, sometimes not. Everything else is fine, just the display cutting out. Any thoughts?

Check the plug wire on the back of the display, make sure its plugged in all the way.

Is the dot matrix display in and out ? partial working ?

Would there be a separate plug just for the display, the tach and lighting still work? It's the whole display going out, not just some pixels.

No its parts of the tach. Sounds like the display is bad or the pinout on the plug is not making a proper connection. Check those first.

Connections at the tach seem fine, thought maybe fuse terminals were oxidized-tried cleaning. I'll see if that made a difference.
