R55 2009 Cooper S convertible hazards flashing
2009 Cooper S convertible hazards flashing
HELP!!
2009 mini cooper s convertible hazards keep flashing and wont stop.
I have disconnected the hazard switch thinking it was a bad switch but no luck.
Reading on other BMW's it sounds like maybe a bad crash relay switch.
Dig as hard as I can, I cannot seem to find this relay. Any ideas??

No. But around this time last year, the FRM failed (due to water) and was replaced. I did not know about it at the time when i purchased it (about 18 months ago) the FRM had a large amount of corrosion on it due to a leak from a previous owner.
I was hoping, no PRAYING, that it isnt the FRM (VERY VERY expensive fix)

Yea, should be 2 year , unlimited miles, give the dealer a call.

Sounds like an FRM issue, you may be able to have the FRM reinitialized at the dealer or an indy shop with access to a tool such as Autologic.
Just had a car in the shop this week for the same problem, it turned out to be the FRM, no water ingress, but the board had evidence of shorting or heat damage.
Newer FRMs have the ability to be updated, the variant 3 had a high failure rate when updated and many shops would refuse to update it. If you have replaced it in the past 2 years the FRM is able to accept updates and shouldn't fail.
When the problem was fixed the first time did they fix the connectors or wires that may or may not have had corrosion issues?
