PLM catted downpipe?

So I know that a lot of people say not to cheap out on downpipes for various reasons, be it fitment, durability, or performance, but I want to get a 200 Cell catted downpipe for my N18 R56 and this one is $300. Considering how expensive catalytic converters are getting, that's a steal. I haven't found anyone using this specific one, but I have seen others using the catless version without any issues. I was wondering if anyone here has experience with this downpipe.

I'm also wondering how safe it would be to run this dp without a tune. I would assume that you can't overboost thanks to the wastegate, but it seems like nobody is running a high-flow downpipe without a tune. I won't be able to get a tune for a while because I'm a broke teenager, but I want a dp to make my exhaust louder and to get louder backfires. I already have a custom 2.5" catback with nothing but this resonator.

I’m running all mods in signature without a tune, that downpipe should be fine and not cause a cel. I’m running catless and have a p0420, just an FYI. Car runs just fine. Alibaba.com is where I got mine for under 100 shipped no fitment issues at all.

Thanks for the response! I got impatient and decided to order it lol. If it works without a tune, I'll sell my stock DP to pay for an ebay intercooler and a DIY intake. If it doesn't work, I'll save it for when I get a tune. Either way, $300 for a catted downpipe is a great deal.

I got the downpipe installed and I posted a review thread in the link above. I'm really happy with it so far.

So is a head gasket and some walnut shell blasting lol. I also need an intercooler and a diverter valve. and tires. and brakes.

Time to start selling my baseball cards and NASCAR diecasts. Anyone interested in a 1:24 Scale Jeff Gordon Martinsville 2015 Color Chrome Raced Win for $250?

Why would you want to do the head gasket? If it ain't broke, don't fix it. The other stuff is peanuts compared to a head gasket change.
