Throttle only 85.5% at WOT

Ive been recently messing around with a Bluetooth adapter scanner to use the Torque App for all OBDII vehicles. Driving around with the '12 MCS, the throttle percentage only goes to 85.5 max. (100% on two other vehicles for reference). Any known reason for this, is it adjustable? I have a fair amount of experience in ALDL tuning but drive by wire is new to me. Any info would be great. Thanks!

Is your car an auto or manual? The only thing I can think of is auto-specific - maybe something to do with the kickdown feature? I don't know if they do this for MINI but I had a couple bmw's that have a little detente near the bottom of the accelerator pedal travel and you have to push past that for the car to downshift and accelerate as fast as possible.

6 speed manual. I did look under the pedal to check for any obstructions too, nothing.

OK well I have a 6sp, Torque app and bluetooth adapter so I will run WOT on my way home and let you know what I find! As if I need another reason to go WOT...

so I went briefly WOT and saw that the throttle gauge did max out around 85.5% exactly. Also I noticed that at idle the throttle was around 16%. I'm doing some research and it sounds pretty normal to not reach 100% and also not idle at 0%. I guess it's different for different cars but people have reported only seeing 85% throttle at WOT for cars like the CTS V and some Audis.

It depends on the PID being reported. SAE Absolute Throttle Position will report 85%. This is due to the 0 - 5 volt scale the throttle potentiometer puts out as it never reaches 5 volts. Not an issue since it was never designed to by BMW. The PID you want to reference is Commanded Throttle Actuator Position SAE.TAC_PCT. This reflects the commanded butterfly position (N14) / Valvetronic actuator position (N18) and will report 100% at WOT.

https://torque-bhp.com/wiki/Throttle_Position

Now I have a page set up on the app with all the other readings. Unfortunately I have a lot of sh*t to get done today so maybe I'll get to it tonight.
