FJCW tune??

Anyone know where to get the authorization JCW ECU code that the dealership can use without having to buy the whole JCW tuning package? I already have the JCW muffler.

As I have posted a few times, I am trying to mimic (or close to it) the exhaust note of the FJCW as I have a 2013 MCS. I do not want to buy a JCW just for sound of exhaust.

I was told any aftermarket tune would void my certified warranty. Besides, I do not want my car to sound like M80s are coming out the backend---I like that distinct burble and growl of the JCW.

You might want to get this "warranty void" info straight from your service mgr. My AP tune and various hardware upgrades did not void the entire warranty, only failed parts affected by the changes. Just gotta be sure to let service know every time it's brought in that you have aftermarket software. This applied to two different dealers --- Sacramento and Reno. Timing chain, aux coolant pump, and HPFP were all covered --- even got a dealer SW upgrade (which temporarily screwed up my AP tune).

If you buy the JCW exhaust, you should have near identical sounds. The N18 motors have the pop and burbles coded in already.
You can get a Manic tune and not have the Pops and Gurgles exaggerated.

So what you are saying is that if I get the JCW tuning kit, it won't sound any different than what I have already? Also, i am concerned about voiding the warranty with any aftermarket tune.

It should sound near identical, if you use a JCW Downpipe back exhaust.
The dealer can't see or read the Manic tune, plus you can toggle it to stock mode in 5 seconds

If the downpipe back exhaust (I am assuming you mean I must have the JCW dp as well) would make my MCS sound identical to the FJCW, what would be the need for a Manic Tune?

Downpipe back, is from the stock Downpipe to the tailpipe. The S and JCW use the same DP

So, if I go with a Manic tune as well, what would that do to the sound? Anything? Or will I just get the benefit of the increased hp and torque? I do not want explosion pops coming out of my car. A stock JCW has a growl, low burbles and subtle pops. Not fireworks. Hahaha

I would just do the exhaust first and if you get the sound you want, then I wouldn't worry about getting a tune.

So I did the JCW tuning kit; I not that impressed...loud drone at high speeds, however, I removed the resonator...could this be the cause of the drone?

The JCW tune is very weak compared to Manic. Removing the cats is fine, but removing the resonator will increase the noise greatly, create a drone and a higher pitched sound

I am inder factory warranty until 2019 or 100k miles. I have 28k miles right now. All I wanted from the get-go was the sound of the FJCW exhaust note...I could care less about hp and whatnot. Maybe I will put the resonator back on and see if that changes the note to what I like.
