Mini Cooper Forge Recirculating valve n18 engine

Hi for those of you that want to change the oem diverter valve because the diaphram just broke or for any other reason,I recommend you to install the Forge Recirculating Valve Kit for n14 or n18 engine,is simple to use and your min wont throw CEL or go on limp mode if you follow the installation instructions that comes with the valve, I first install the atmospheric valve kit for n18 engine and i was having problems with it the mini went CEL on and Limp mode and surge sound.

I call Forge motorsport and i told them the problems i was having,i contact various friends with the recirculating valve kit and all of the told me if works perfectly so i ask the forgemotorsport representative if they can change me the atmospheric valve kit for the recirculating valve, with out any problems they change it, i am more than happy with my forge recirulating valve kit and with the service Forge Motorsport brind me great product , awesome service.

I'm pretty sure they're talking about ES#2723932 It's here That's what I used. Goes without saying, make sure it's what you need!

You can also try the upgraded OEM part... no diaphragm / redesigned. Tigger had a post about it. I can't find it, though.

Pssshhh sound

Do these recirc valves give the same pssshh sound that the BOV gave? I really like the sound the VTA gives, but I don’t want to cause rich mixture or CPU issues.

So the second gen is a VTA but it doesn’t trip the CPU?

There are two versions, first version FMDVR60R is silent like the original OEM, and the second version FMDVR60A makes the sound (I think you can set it upto something like 50/50)

The one that VTA comes with a plug that connects to the original electrical connector to prevent ECU errors.

Turbosmart also makes similar products.

Yes, if you look at the part numbers... “R” is for “R”ecirculate, and “A” for “A”tmospheric. You can use the “R” valve with a blow off plate if you decide later that you want the noise. (This is how mine is installed)

They both come with the connector for the factory harness. Even though the Forge valves are mechanical, they still rely on the factory ECU controls to open and close. The advantage to the mechanical design just allows them to hold more boost and be slightly more reliable.
