Diverter/bypass Valve

I just bought a 2007 Cooper S. The CEL came on and the code it was throwing was p28AA diverter/bypass valve plausibility. My car does not have the response it once had now that it is in LIMP MODE... Can anyone direct me to where I go next, replace etc. I have looked and cant seem to find the answer anywhere. Please help me out.

Thanks

Erik

Replace it.

The diaphragm inside the DV is most likely torn. I believe that the N14 2007-2010 used a DV that is now upgraded on the N18 models 2011-2013...

Check sites like WMW, Out Motoring, Etc.. Good luck and enjoy the install, it can be a B!$@£ at first LOL...

Unless you are modded, Forge is overkill. Also $290.00

Try this to replace as OEM:

Or this as an upgrade:

That genuine one is the newest design. Looks like they changed the design again.

I have this on my '07:

It works with the stock one, but replaces springs and uses a metal diaphragm so you don't have to worry about your torn one (assuming your is torn).

Have you ever been in a MCS that had the Forge deverter valve? The purpose behind the Forge DV is that it reacts much faster than the stock DV, the stock DV dumps more boost than is nessisary. Your turbo using the Forge DV increases your turbos responsiveness and you dump less boost in between shifts. Just ask anyone who owns the Forge DV, they will tell you the same thing.
