R56 Is it Worth the JB+ N18

If you can pick one up in the marketplace here they're considerably cheaper.
IMO, either do the JB+ or go with a tune. The advantage of the JB+ is that you literally just plug it in and drive. I went with the JB only because I can't be without my car long enough to ship my ECU out for a tune, there's nobody local that I can find that does tunes, and some dealers will hassle you for having the tune (and if they update the flash on the ECU, it wipes out your tune).

I actually just had some stuff done at the dealer and took mine off. Haven't had a chance to put it back on since I picked the car up this morning. Definitely noticing NOT having it on the car.
If you step on on the gas without, you tend to get a power surge around 4-4.5K (at least in my car) and it's relatively mild. With the JB+, it's a little more linear but a lot more "savage" feeling (for lack of a better term) once the turbo spools up.

I been watching marketplace for one but always just miss someone selling one.
How does it sound? and what you do to clear any error codes?

Yes. The JB+ is awesome, but it's a "gateway drug". LOL. You will enjoy it, but it will leave you wanting MORE. I still love mine, but looking forward to a tune when I can afford it. Good starting point for my N18 mods to come. YES, you will feel it, after the proper installation. Wait for car to "shut-down" entirely, give it an hour or so. Disconnect battery negative. Set JB+ to 50%. Install JB+. Re-connect battery negative. Drive car like you stole it. That worked for me! Took a drive of maybe 50-60 miles to get the JB+ fully integrated. This is my experience, and YMMV. If there are instructions included, follow those. ALWAYS use minimum 91 octane fuel.

to install. turn off car. pop hood. close and lock doors. wait 15 minutes. install JB+. start car, make sure no CEL or anything weird. drive lightly for 50 miles.

Exactly, the JB+ was the first "tune" to make the N18 fun, but now people have options. Tonight I was at the dyno and the customer made 202whp with a JB+ and 241whp with Manic on 91 octane. Same car, same dyno same conditions. My customers is very happy. mQubed Motorsport, Manic Tuning Dealer

Bought one lightly used from a member on here recently. I definitely notice the difference on a bone stock '13 R56S. My wife and I went to lunch together a few days ago and when I got on it at some point, she noticed it ...
Considering what I spent, I think it's worth having if you aren't ready to go the 'tune' route.

Hi folks. 2013 N18 MCS with JB+ from over the pond in UK here...
As a matter of interest there's no advice about anchoring the JB+ after fitment, but it may be one of those 'common sense' issues.
Do most people use theirs 'commando' or fix it to a nearby cable? ie could vibration eventually cause the connectors to fail?
(Just thinking out of the box...)

Mine's been hanging in there without securing it to anything. The cabling it connects to is fairly stiff and at least with mine, it sits pretty flat on top of the valve cover since my MAF sensor is moved with an aftermarket intake. With that setup mine doesn't move at all.
If I remember correctly, even with the stock MAF sensor location, it stills kind of sits fairly nestled in there.
