It just needs fine tuning. We're supposed to take Map B to max boost and map C pull timing for nitrous. I'm not holding my breath from this anymore.

I called ByteTroniks about cloning an ecu so I could run two different tunes in each. This was 3-4 months ago and he/they told me they only messed with the gen1 cars ??!!?
Are they tuning gen2 now ?

Jay tuned his own Gen 3 JCW Automatic. We hooked up to my Gen 2 JCW Tuning Kitted Mayfair S to his laptop but hit a snag with reading the "tune" software version from the upgrade, he did (I think) upload the software itself from the upgrade to study it. We will get together again at a later date...we then hooked up his other machine and cleared some misfire codes. All I can say is give him a call...

Could you be more specific about your thoughts on Map C versus the others?

Hey Sprintcar, how much HP and Torque could be get out of naturally aspirated engine. Bore, stoke, cams and injectors? you know the old fashioned way. It seem to me with all the huffers and puffers it get to complicated. Maybe this is for another thread.

Haven't got brother. Problem would be getting a tune. Then more important the fine tune. I'm beside myself for that part. My car has gotten a lot of miles since the initial flash. When you do things like this to this extreme, you can't keep running them this long with just the initial. It's gotta be tweaked. You could be to rich, and wash the rings out, timing to much or not enough and burn valves or not burn all the fuel.
Personally, I wouldn't bother to be honest, the tweaking after data logs is to long. I'm not gonna send my ecu in I can tell ya that. Sometimes you just get a good feel for a motor and its best to let it be. This be my case. It's ran to long without being finalized. I've went to cape hatteras, central pa to watch racing. Nyc twice. Boston once. Delivered and pick up heads for customers. Sorry for the rant, but I'm just annoyed knowing what I know about things and something's could have been prevented. My advice, unless it's a run of the mill build, don't build an extreme piece like I did. AND ITS NOT THE DEALERS FAULT !! The dealers hands are tied when it comes to certain things.

From everything I've read best bet is to up grade to JCW turbo and be done with it for a DD. Like everyone powers always nice to have but without reliability its ends up being a pain in the ****.

Sounds like you've decided to leave as is and just enjoy what you've got. I'm still impressed how well your trans had held up to the abuse gives me peace of mind

Yea that Trans is holding up but I do not advice anyone. To do what I did with an auto Trans car the problem is how it shifts. When your at full boost. And it shifts, it pulls boost out, like almost all of it, it falls dead square on its face. On the highway, it's a mid range Mini Cooper monster. It jumps to 130 quick. None stock mustangs can be taken with a wide cheesey grin. Most new camaro's as well except for the 5.7 and the ls1 engines that have light mod's. My car runs 13.4 ET at 108 mph in 1/4 mile. 60 foot totally sucks. 2.219. Fix the 60 foot, it's a 12 second car all day long.

Ok, time for the bad news but it's gonna end in good news over time. Last night on the ride home from work the lil monster hydro planed and I ended up in the middle median of 295 south in southern nj. The car is in surprisingly good shape considering I pulled a duke boys through the soft shoulder and into the weeds and trees. The obvious stuff like the plastic from end popped apart. No broken glass or headlights. They all actually still work and aim straight still. Only light I lost is the driver side fender marker and the steel body panel it attaches to. The door needs replaced but the window still goes up and down so it can't be to bad. Body panel behind the door im gonna push back out from the inside and it'll be straight again. So for about 6-700 bucks I can get the body parts minus paint. Plastic front front stuff, pull it apart and re-assemble. I got pretty lucky. Hopefully that Wagner competition cooler is ok.
SO !! For the rest of it, the car is going into the back yard up on blocks for another transformation. It's gonna get a full suspension. Full brake system. Adjustable rear control arms and anything else I can stuff into it. Gas tank is coming down and a new fuel pump for no reason is in order. Re plumb the meth system. Since the interior is gonna be out im gonna make it as light as humanly possibly with total disregard to whatever you can think of. I want it lightened to the max. Prolly stuff a cage in it to.
Time to make a new thread.

Put the wing off your Sprint Car on it. you should get some downforce especially in left turns.

Well, this will be the last go around. It's gonna be lightened as far as I can go. If I don't use it or know it's there, it's getting taken out. Something happens after this, it's getting totally cut and im gonna stuff an aluminum v8 under the hood with a liberty Trans and it's gonna be rear wheel drive. So much for the firewall. Lmao

All reasonable offers for the car will be considered at this point in time. Please don't ask for a list of mods unless your totally serious. It's way to long to list.

Actually the car didn't sustain damage like one would think. I actually popped it all back together and got 2 other pieces to make it perfect again. The bumper isn't required.
It's gotten to a point were just not worth the time that I care to spend on it anymore. And I'm tired of tying up other people's stuff to get it finished. Just got off the phone with my girl since I sent t a couple emails and texts off and she agreed. If you gotta fight and kick somethings just aren't worth the aggravation factor.

If I would've known this clown was gonna take this long just to do an update I would have rather gotten a full stand alone system and been done with it.

Pedro user name Xarula has got 400hp+ MINI Cooper S don't know who did his tuning I do know he's in Portugal. I can't believe MANIC can't write you a good tune for your mods. Sounds like the shows over you've had enough.

It's not that he can't, I'm still on base tune. I'm pissed because he told me he was doing them in a week. That was about 2-3 months ago.
Damn shame you pay for a tune and x amount of updates and just like Jan at RMW, gets your money, does one thing now ignored emails. There's already been software updates according to one email from Nick. So I should be getting a software update and some fine tuning. So much for getting anything past 22psi as promised. If these parts I got were tied directly to Nick I'd sit on them for 6 months. But the owner don't deserve it. He's stuck between a rock and hard place trying to make a living.

He's not helping himself with his treatment of you and the feedback your leaving on this site because of it. **** I thought you'd be running at least 26psi and 300hp minimum.

It's the ignoring of emails that pisses me off. If he had came back and said, dude I'm sorry but this blew up bigger and faster than I thought and I can't keep up. But he didn't, as far as horsepower, it's over 300 for sure. I just put a new Trans in it last night. It had to have been slipping for awhile. It ripped a nasty burn out at 40mph. At 50 it started a burn out then started chirping tires. The best 1/4 mile time I got was 13.4@106mph with a 2.319 60 foot time. I did manage to get a 2.17 60 foot in map C, but it went way slower over all. 13.7@104. No way in hell will I send my ecu to get updated at this point. If something is tweaked in the wrong direction or to much, how long you think it would take to get corrected ?!?! Ain't worth the added aggravation at this point. And just so everyone knows, un-tuned engines or engines that aren't tuned properly, have a very short life span. Things like washed out rings causing blow bye, then oil gets contaminated with combustion particles can happen. So if you are considering a tune, find out if it's already been dialed in yet. If not, steer clear til it's done. I see countless really good engines in for rebuild because the owners are clueless when it comes to tuning. Now we can tune these cars but the same basic principles apply.
