Im new to this, question about intake

So I bought a 2011 MC non-s R56 and it already had a DDMworks intake filter box/ K&N filter and VIP intake tube/silencer delete Intake on it.

My question is, am I getting enough air in there? I say this, because my inlet hole from my CAI is directly behind the hood (the left side of the right headlight if facing the car) I know that sounds dumb, "its behind the hood"...but it literally is like 3 inches away/behind from that spot.

I feel like not enough air is getting in there, but again, im a noob so i could be wrong. And if you know what those look like, is not a big filter sucking in tons of air, its just a small tube for the air to come in.

Ive seen other CAIs with the filter wide in the open near the back of the engine, like a short ram intake usually is, or atleast some sort of hood scoop etc for it to get more air.

I can post pics later if needed, Ive considered cutting a small hole in the hood in front of where my inlet tube is and getting a carbon fiber scoop to go there with some sort of mesh to go on the inside.

Any ideas, comments, etc?

Intakes don't really do much, and yours is doing what it should. No need to overthink it.

Compared to some other intakes, I know I could be getting much more air.

Interesting, thanks for posting the pics. I was having a hard time following your description. Personally, I would rather pull air from outside the engine bay just as you're doing. I'm with Richardsperry, it's doing just what it's supposed to do, I wouldn't mess with it. There is just not much to be gained..

I got a question about that tube that pulls air in. Is it supposed to be secured by a bracket into the air box? I noticed yesterday mine could easily be pulled out. I'm thinking a past dealer probably forgot to put the bracket back on.
