Greetings from NYC
Hey all! Just thought I'd make my intro. Proud owner of an R53. Just picked it up about 10 days ago. 2002 with only 54k miles on it, so had to jump on it. Anyway, so glad I stumbled on this site. Any questions I've had have been answered on this site, so I thought I should join and start participating! Great to be back on the road. I haven't had a car since I moved to NYC from LA in 2012.
Anyone in the area know any fun places to drive, please let me know! I'll also browse around for any existing info on that topic.
Planned Upgrades (still researching brands and whatnot):
15% reduction pulley
Colder range spark plugs
Intake
Headers
Exhaust

Welcome to NAM! Those are some low miles! Good find! My dads side of the family is from NY, Queens to be exact. I miss visiting there. Look into the M7 pulley and M7 CAI as possibilities. We are having a sale on them this week so it may be a good chance to pick one up if they interest you.

Welcome to the MINIacs! Sharp looking car! You probably have the best roads right there... dodging all those pot holes and cabs. It's like your own Dragoon at your front door. If you ride seems to be a little harsher than you think it should be you might want to look into some Koni FSDs to help smooth out the ride. That is unless you are planning on lowering the car then stay away from them. They don't handle the drop of even a JCW spring for very long from what I've read. I just put a set of FSDs on my R53 and love them.

Thanks everyone!
Hadn't thought about shocks. Not going to lower it any since the road quality is poor to say the least haha. I'll put that on my list of things to look at!
Haha, going to take my time on the mods. Coming from a Camaro, I was surprised at how much "go" the R53 has. Definitely not disappointed!
Thanks! I have you, M7, and Pelican in my bookmarks!
