Center Circle of Rear Hatch Badge Is Gone!

Hello all,

The middle of Jeeves' rear hatch badge has taken off w/o the wings. It is the black circle with the word MINI in silver. What's left is the rest of the badge (the silver wings) and a silver circle in the middle with the word MINI in raised letters, over which the missing piece sat.

Does anyone know where I can get a replacement? I don't know if it was a decal or a piece of plastic or metal that needed an adhesive. I saw some old threads on this topic but the websites that they referenced seem to be out of business. Would the dealer have it?

I know I can get the whole thing easily enough but I am chea... er, thrifty, and would prefer only the missing part.

Any assistance is appreciated. Thanks.

The first time it happened I got a used badge off eBay or the forum marketplace. I haven't yet replaced it now that it has happened again. Some of the vinyl decal vendors (or perhaps Outmotoring) offer just the decal.

I just noticed this a few weeks ago. I considered just painting it all black or something to that effect.

Here is the rear emblem. It comes off with a heat gun or hair dryer and then you can use some dental floss to get under line. Use blue painter tape to make off the edges where the old one is, before you take it off , then plead and stick on the new one.

Otherwise if you like to replace the center and want to take the time to fit one in one of the center cap sticker off of the wheel and try to fit it to the wings emblem, the emblem is smaller then center caps sticker ~ 50mm (36136758687) and the wings MINI center ( 51147026186) sticker is about ~ 45mm in size. You could cut it to fit for something custom. Of course the MINI lgog should fit, but wont have the ring design. So it would take some craft and cutting.

Thanks

This has also happened to me and I am too cheap so far to fix it. I have considered painting it as well maybe using some nail polish...haven't decided yet. But it has been missing the sticker for about a year now.

Happened to me and I've yet to come up with a repair solution. I think what happens is moisture gets under it and, when it freezes, pops it off. I'm pondering about using some epoxy and attaching a half-dollar, or something similar in there - but still procrastinating on a solution.

Over the years we've seen many of these MINI wings badges missing the black center. I believe it's the sun that bakes them off, and washing the car over time just wears them off.

I am thinking of masking off the shiny metallic MINI and painting the rest of the circle in gloss black. This might somewhat replicate the original look.
Thanks to all for suggestions.

I like this idea because mine are gone, $40 for new ones is ridiculous, and I don’t like advertising for companies who don’t pay me :-)

I replaced mine with fresh ones but kept the originals since they are still in good shape. One is missing the alignment tab. You will need double sided tape and they should hold

Free to a good home. PM me if you want them. I will even throw in free shipping if youre in the lower 48.

Motoring Stripes sells a vinyl decal to go in that space for $6. OEM is printed on metal so this one is not as nice. But for $6 its cheaper than buying a replacement badge.
