front and rear badges

Has anyone else had a problem with the front and rear MINI "wing" badges delaminating? First the black part came off from the rear one, and that was $37 to replace, and now the same has happened on the front and they want $42 for an even smaller emblem??

My car spends most of the time in the garage, and there is no evidence that someone is defacing them.

Pretty lame to spend nearly $100 to replace a couple of small badges.

My rear one just did the same thing, and I have seen others like this as well. I found my replacement on Ebay for around $15 I think.
Get ahold of MotoringSpeed_gnat in the vendor section. He can get you good deals on OEM parts like this.

I had a rear badge delaminate (or corrode) internally about a year ago, so I agree that this can certainly happen. On mine, I could see that the silver part of the wings started to get white beginning in one corner and working across, though the surface of the badge was fine and smooth. I had this replaced under warranty, though I was not impressed with the badge quality. My 12 year old Alfa Romeo never showed such defects, and its badges were a good deal more complex design.

The only badge I've had trouble with on my R53 is the one on the steering wheel. From early on I had noticed that it was up slightly on one wing, but it's never gotten any worse, and I haven't hurt myself on it. Anybody else have this one come loose? Is there a replacement for it?

Thanks for the info. I will probably just fork over the $ to the local dealer, as I am trying to sell the car and need it looking good ASAP.

I had my steering wheel badge start to come up on the corner. I mentioned it to my dealer, thinking they could just glue it back down but they actually replaced the whole airbag.
