New Owner, New Problems!

1) The high pressure pwr steering hose is showing signs of seepage.
2) Valve cover is leaking a tad.
3) This happened today: the Flat Tire Monitoring light & the DSC light are light and stay lit.

Any ideas?

BTW, I already replaced the pwr steering fan with the updated 06 part today, for peace of mind.

Hoses and gaskets go bad with age.

I'm not sure about the lights, have you used a scan tool on them to see if there are any codes?

sounds like a wheel sensor or a bad conn. to the wheel sensors. did you have a wheel off to do the fan upgrade? good point to start.

I had the DSC and Tire Monitor come on when if first put my new rims on. I just reset the Tire Monitor and DSC when out after a couple restarts.

From the manual:

1. Start the engine, but do not start driving
2. Press the flat tire reset (by parking brake)button long enough for the indicator lamp in the display elements to light up for a few seconds
3. Drive off.

It takes a few minutes before the Flat Tire
Monitor can detect a flat tire and issue an
alert

The manual says "the TPMS may malfunction due to a sporty driving style." (Well, duh!) I reset the light and it is fine. After installing my new fan, I did notice a slightly more quiet hum from beneath. Next thing is the metal shroud. The whole rack was replaced at 37,000 by the MINI dealership, but it is a reman! I don't know which is better: faulty English engineering or remanned Mexican craftsmanship!!

What I really want to know is how can I integrate my iPod on this stock stereo?? It is not mp3, simply a single CD. I was looking through the threads and am a smidge confused. What should I buy?

BTW, I ripped an Aston Martin DB7 a new one yesterday in the twisties on Highway 17 to Santa Cruz!! I love this car!

The stereos can have an aux input installed, but it depends on your car's build date. Although, the actual cut-off date is not known, it is said that the aux will not work with all '02 and early '03 year cars.

You can buy an aux port (I paid $35 for a used one) and it's a prety easy install to do yourself. If you want something more integrated, the Nav & Audio forum has a "stickY"thread at the top about iPod installs. You could also do a search of that forum.

Now lets get this thread back on topic.

Or you can use FM Modulation which is sometimes great and sometimes it sucks. For my commute it works fine but would like to hardwire.

Sounds like an intermittant fault for a steering angle sensor.... that is if you have DSC and not ASC!!!

This "aux" port is a simple 1/8" connector, like a headphone jack?
I want to control my iPod through the radio, like on my other car!
What do I need? An '05 head unit? I kinda want to stay stock, to fend off any ruffians interested in breaking into Emma! Yes, I have already named her!!
