Schroth harness install - bolt attaching lab belt too big?
I just installed my Schroth harness in my 2012 JCW. The lab belt quick release that attaches to the factory mount on the floor does not allow the bolt to go all the way through. The bolts shaft is thicker right at the end not allowing it to go into the smaller hole of the Schroth mounting bracket. I tightended it all the way but it wont go all the way in do to its size.
Do I need another bolt like was provided for the rear mounting bracket. Or should I drill out the front bracket to have a slightly larger hole?
Here is a picture of it fully tightened down but not threading all the way in.

hrmm......i would think drilling the hole to a larger size would be a bad idea....you would be removing material and weakening the bracket.
and i can see how accidentally not choosing the right bolt would also be potentially unsafe.
i think your best bet would be to give schroth a call and see what they recommend.

Do you think I can use the harness this way for the time being? I have an autocross driving school this saturday and was really looking forward to having it for the event. I will give them a call tomorrow. I have their phone on the instructions.
in the event of a crash....by using ill-fitting hardware/ brackets, you will be putting excess strain on the assembly which may lead to premature failure.
