R56 Coolant Leak

Ok there's a long story behind it all but to keep it short, i have coolant leak which made me break down on the side of the road. I pulled the entire intake out and noticed something missing below on the right side of the motor. As pour water into the coolant tank all of it runs out from this area. I have no idea what went there, either something is missing or there's a crack. Any ideas???

I need some help with this.

Have detailed photos of what "hole" you're referring to?
If is on the 'right' side (assuming US-spec drivers side, correct?) there's the thermostat housing, which is directly underneath the vacuum pump.

Yes, picture would help.
The thermostat/housing leaking is fairly common
but when mine leaked it was not pouring out of the
bottom.
Oh, my coolant bottle has a plug on the bottom. Is that
what you are talking about? If that came out, yes it'd
pour out.

Now zoom out from that area; so that there's a known reference point.
I think I know where this is, but need a reference to confirm.

Same issue here. Stored my Mini for the winter and it was a beautiful day yesterday and decided to take it out for a spin. Well, long story short, there is a little puddle on my drive way where I parked my Mini after a short run. Please let me know what you find out. I may have the same issue. :(

That would be a broken thermostat housing. Somewhere there is a hose broken off too it looks like. The heat in these cars dessimates the crappy plastic housing. $115 part and about 1.5 hrs labor and you're good to go. Or take it to Mini for $500.

Sorry it took so long for me to respond. But i cant really zoom out, that pic is the closest i can get to showing you. Anything farther would be the right side of the motor where the intake was. This whole is right below the intake, behind two hosings.

Would agree; crappy material choice, but easy replacement.
