According to Mini via my MA: 1007 2012 Mini Cooper's have been built without satellite radio. Of those 8 have been sold. I have one of the 8. Haha. Mini says they will not overlook the issue. Anyone ever hear of something like this? If so what was the outcome? What should I expect?

I don't even know what you're saying. That you have one of eight coopers with satellite radio?

 

I think there's a missing sentence in the OP - what issue did Mini say they won't overlook? Why is it a problem that you don't have satellite radio?

 

Oops, I guess I typed too fast or something. My car was supposed to come with satellite radio installed. Mini never installed it. There's no software or anything. Mine is one of 1,007 they did this to.

 

You should expect them to put satellite radio in your MINI, you paid for it!

MINI is generally pretty good about fixing things like this. My MINI was one of 147 2006 convertibles that the factory accidentally stamped with a 2007 VIN!

MINI ended up giving us all a free extension to 4 years/50k miles on the service agreement, a free wind deflector, and a $250 gift card for parts/accessories.

I wouldn't expect you to get quite that much for missing satellite radio, but if they've already identified you as a group, there may be some kind of "apology package" in the future.

 

Sweet! It's not really a big deal to me, I actually think it's pretty cool to have one of X amount of cars like this.

I just realized that my 2012 (the first in Minnesota) does not have the Satellite Radio activated. It doesn't even show up, and yet I get live traffic updates in the NAV which comes from space, yes? I hadn't noticed it because I have been playing with Mini Connected, but a week ago I started getting emails from SiriusXM congratulating me on my new car with XM Satellite radio! So, they think I have it, I think I paid for it, and yet, it's not there.

I contacted my dealership and they are looking into it. How has your's been resolved?
