Service indicator question

My car was serviced in December at 9100 miles. Currently the car has 13500 and service indicator shows next service at 15,000 miles.

Car is in to dealer for unrelated, and I asked them if they would service it to save me the trouble of bringing it back again next month.

My service advisor said, that service indicator showing "15000" means the car will need service after 15000 more miles, not at 15,000 miles.

My owners manual is in the car, so I can't look.

Is that correct? Am I misreading the service indicator?

Yes, per the CBS count down or 1 year whichever comes first.

service indicator is a "count down" type notification. Dependant on mileage and how you run your engine believe it or not.

What part of YES don't you understand?

It's a countdown indicator. Just be sure and check your oil level, ours is most def using 1/2qrt per 5,000 miles so far. We changed it at 6 months and 5,000 miles ourselves, stealership gets the 12 month change. Our MINI sees many short grocery getter trips and about 10,000 miles a year. So will probably stay on the 6 month interval. Although many on here do go the recommended intervals just fine and dandy.

Sorry slow this morning, as had to wake up at 530am for service appt Yes ours is used like yours, so I will change it at 15,000

It is showing front brakes, "23000" and rear brakes "27000" so I guess given it is a countdown indicator I will be right out of warranty, when that is needed

Just use your brakes more and squeeze them into the 'free' maintenance period. :D

Here's one of those fine and dandy cars using the CBS oil change intervals:
