R56 2011 MCS or wait for Coupe
2011 MCS or wait for Coupe
I am looking to break my lease early on my 2009 BMW 135i and go back to MINI ownership.
Now my issue is, should I get a new Mini Cooper S or wait for the eventual release of the MINI Coupe or Roadster?

Surprised to hear you are wanting to end your 135i lease early...that car is on my short list. Since I will not be trading my truck I will be waiting to save up a down payment, so I too will be waiting to see the coupe/roadster twins. Its just me and the wife now and a two seater will be more than adequate...and it will be my DD. A lighter car with a JCW engine really appeals to me. But very little in known at this point. If you can hang out with the 135i, why not wait and see? Last I heard the coupe is due about this time next year.
thanks for the feedback on the Coupe and Roadster. I am still uncertain whether I will like them once they are finally released.
I am looking to break my lease early based on the fact I have had a number of issues with my 135i. I think I just ended up with a slightly sub-par car.
ALSO, I had a 2007 Cooper S and loved it, so I am experiencing some withdrawal from that as well.

you can wait for the 2012 coupe. by that time, the next gen mini will be out and you get more choices
what type of issues do you have with the 135i that makes you want to break your lease?

i ditched my 135i and could not be happier with my 2010 MCS. hated that 135i.
i say go for the MCS now - maybe a 3 year lease - and then get the coupe when all the kinks are worked out of it, cuz you know there will be some.

Yeah, I am thinking I just might look into getting the MCS sooner than later. Especially since the LCI is effective for 2011 models, which means the new Mini will be released for model year 2013 or possibly 2014 (if the typical life cycle is the same as BMW's at 7 years)
