Intake filter

2011 clubman S. I have searched and it seems everyone wants intakes for the cool factor and sucking sound. I'm looking for performance. . I have been looking at a bunch of different intakes and those of you out there that have had experiences with different ones, could you all help me out to decide what would work for me. Even something that draws air thru the hood scoop to the filter.Any help is greatly appreciated.i just want one that works good.even if the stock filter is fine and maybe an upgraded filter to pull more air in would be good. Yes I have something going on with my car and let's just say...... The more stock it sounds, the better. Plus living on the beach in floridas hot climate doesn't help either. Thanks everyone.

If you're wanting more of a stock sound, I'd just stick to a drop in air filter. Look into the aFe Power Pro Dry S filter here. I actually ran across this thread here on NAM about mods to an R55. Check it out. Post #9 and #16 discusses the intake and note that there is no real noticeable gain from doing the intake.

Intake

Thanks. I don't expect gains or anything like that.not worried about extra HP. I got that already. Just researching about more air. I'm just wanting to spool up my turbo a bit more on the low end. It pops around 2800 and then holds on solid at 3000 and over.Would be nice to get it to do it a tad earlier.I have everything I need except for the intake. It's kinda tough to decide as the only way to get cooler air is getting a complete kite that uses the air scoop on the hood.such as the DDM system as an example. I'm still new at this and still learning. Just want to make good choices on what I get and do it right the first time. I appreciate all feedback. Thanks.

Sounds like you've done some good research. Well, we don't have anything that uses the scoop, but you could maybe look into the M7 Speed MAXX-FLO Intake here. Good quality product. You could look into adding the M7 Vortex 2 scoop to this system in terms of style and air volume entering under the hood and feeding the open filter element. We do have 10% off all M7 product going on right now too here if any of this interests you. Otherwise, maybe someone else will have a good viable intake option that may interest you.
