R56 2011 Ordering
Thanks the album art in that Pic is off a USB stick but also works from the iPhone.
Jolagues: I have a 3GS and at first it wouldn't work even though it worked with another person's 4G. What they told me to do was turn off the car, turn off the phone, turn back on the phone, plug it in, and turn the car on. It should work after that. Basically do a full power cycle of the phone and then try.

yea, doing this will generally work. this is one of the quirks in bmw too (which was fix with a software update). it annoyed me when you are already on the road and the music didn't sync properly. another cause could be a mp3 songs limitation that the computer couldn't handle. hopefully a software update in the future will fix this problem.
great thanks
has anyone heard of this new part number in post #29

The stock headliner is your basic beigy-grey color. It really makes things look nice with the black interior. Also the side pillars are of plastic in the same color and everything blends nicely. Makes the ambient colors really glow too. I think it'd be a bit too much black to get the black headline too, so I'm glad I made the choice to go standard.
I am going to shock you too. I love the beige headliner, but then again I ordered a pepper white MCS (which according to some, is a granny's car color). Which is fine, since my grannies are cool.
Edit: And I think the headliner is more white than beige. And that with black interior is very classy, if you ask me.

Meh, I think an all-black interior would be too much. The color isn't gray by any means really, but it opens up the cockpit quite a bit. I'm surprised by how roomy it feels inside (yes, I did test drives, but you can never really feel home-y in a test car and notice this stuff). Especially with the windows down and sunroof open, it doesn't feel like a subcompact.
Course, I like the sunroof and didn't order rear fogs and went with cloth seats...what do I know
Orm: who cares if it's a granny color. And who cars what everyone else thinks! It's not a granny engine in there, and they're just jealous
Today's cute-coworker-comment: if you feed and water it it will grow up to be big and strong!
....yeah ok jack@ss, so funny

Guess that I am REALLY in trouble. Let's see, my guy has black, with Red seats, black color line, and black something else, with a red door ring and dash. Pretty dark, but I like it, or think that I will.
Pepper White? That color was on my short list and I'm no Granny. The reason that I went away from Pepper White is that there are just too many of them here in Central Iowa. That would have looked great with the Red roof & mirrors too.
wahoo_shoe: What you say is true, these Mini's don't feel like subcompact cars, they feel, well almost, sub mid cars. I know of guys that tower over 6'3" or more that love driving these Mini's. Especially with your Clubman, there's alot of room in them.
Lil Guy should be to the final assembly and inspection today. Then for the train ride to Southampton.

I sort of remember hearing that we need to have iOS version 4 installed for this... Does your 3GS still have version 3 installed by any chance?
OK, just got off the phone with Mini Relations and they tell me that my Lil Guy is going to take a bit longer. It did go into the Paint Shop yesterday, but needs to go thru final assembly and that won't be for at least three more days, maybe less, but I was told not to expect it in less. So, in reference to that, what happened to others that were in the build stage? In other words, when yours went into the paint shop, how long was it before it passed final assembly and headed for the boat?
running 4.1.2 thanks for the advice. I think I may just return the snap-in and use the usb. I am planning on getting a new phone when the iPhone 5 comes out next june so I dont know if it is worth it to pay the $200 for 8 months for a device that I cant get to work.
Hemi: might be due to the fact the JCW aero kit is most likely done at the factory now
jola: try the USB out of the dash only. Mine works just fine, I'd be surprised if the iPhone, running the most current software, doesn't work with VB

wahoo_shoe....we can only hope that it gets the JCW Aero kit, that would be a very nice surprise. At first the rumor was just that, but then that was kabashed. I'll be happy with whatever it has.
Did call them again, just 10 minutes ago. I'll bet that they are getting sick of me, at least I haven't gotten the same person twice. It is now out of the Paint shop, and into Assembly. That sounds better than the Mini Relations gal did three hours ago. This guy seemed to think that it should go to transport either tomorrow or Thursday. Progressing.....
wahoo_shoe: how did you find out what ship your Clubby was going to be on, and the tracking of that boat? I know it's on here somewhere, but I have no idea how to find that on these 30 pages.

Ill jump in, in case Wahoo is out driving.
Once ASKMINI says the car is en route to port of exit, they have no more info for you. It's out of their hands.
Next is the homework: you know it's going out of Southampton port. You go to the primary shipper's page and search your VIN:
https://att.2wglobal.com/gstattweb/o...uickSearchPage
under Cargo ID.
it won't show up until it's being loaded. In the interim, I just looked at the schedule of boats coming and going and saw when my next presumed available was (as I missed the last one by mere days)... I thought I'd be waiting until mid-October for the TALAMUD(sp) but on a later check after a few days my VIN pulled up the VOLANS LEADER, which had come in, and taken possession of the car.
Once it's assigned a vessel, I found at least so far that the transit info from the shipper is less frequently updated. I switch to the live map:
http://www.marinetraffic.com/ais/def...ntery=50.76362
Search by vessel name and you'll see where it is: in port, or leaving, in my case.
From there, it's hit or miss. You can search the World Map by Vessel, and if the ship has reported it's position, you may get a hit. Mine has been silent for awhile, en route.
Hope this helps...

Cut and paste from Mini HQ regarding production delays:
"R5X MINI LCI
DAB Radio (option 654) - Ongoing limited availability
Interior Trim Body Colour (option 318) in combination with Pepper White (option 850) - Delayed option introduction and limited availability. Please consider one of the alternative trims available, e.g. 4BC, 4BD, 4BE.
Interior Surfaces Chili Red (4CY) on John Cooper Works models - Delayed option introduction and limited availability. Please consider one of the alternative trims available, e.g. 4BC, 4BD."
Countryman comes into the UK via the Thorne Distribution centre, as do all UK BMWs . All JCWs and limited editions are shipped to Thorne to have their bodykits and trinkets fitted. The Thorne centre is very busy - hence delays.
"Just spoken to someone within MINI who has said that colour line interiors are causing a number of delays due to limited availability...So if you've specc'd a red dash on your JCW that could be the reason. Same also applies to convertibles and their new body colour dashes."
Someone else was told Eclipse Grey paint is in short supply as well.
Hope this helps out

It arrived on Monday, picking it up on Wednesday.
You must think I am crazy, for not picking it up on Mon, but I have some things I need to get done before the handover.
Edit: I am getting the floor mats as a freebie from the dealer. How are you liking your new Mini Wahoo?
