Opinions Please

Lately I've been thinking giving Paxton some stripes, so I [HORRIBLY ] Photoshopped some on to him. I know it looks terrible in the picture, but obviously it would be better in real life, and I think you get the idea of what I'm going for. I just want your good and bad opinions on the design. Likes or dislikes. Any other colors you think would look good. If you don't like it, don't be afraid to tell me!

I am awaiting your responses!

I personally don't think sport stripes looks good on a just-a-coop. I think the scoup on the S really breaks it up and looks fantastic but not on a just-a-coop. Again this is just my opinion and you should do whatever you like of course!

I don't like the way it looks in the photo at all. However, reality might look different if these are supposed to be flat black with a similar value (light/dark) to the paint, and not purple-grey. I don't think a neutral grey would work either. Here are the things that strike me about the photo:

Is the black plastic trim around the wheel wells covered in vinyl? It looks really bad in that purple-grey color.

The bonnet stripes cover too much area. The ratio of paint area to stipe is not pleasing.

The area around the license plate silly. I'd skip that, or get an offset "No Holes" plate holder that goes in the tow hook port.

Haha, I think I need to recalibrate my screen, I was going for a really dark grey or gunmetal. I want the stripes up the middle to be the same size as the ones on the Challenge series Mini.

Now that I look at that I didn't realize how far off my proportions were haha. Maybe I'll try again. But either way I can get vinyl ridiculously cheap so it's worth a shot. I'll probably try it out by the end of the summer.

ricbow, the stripes in your signature are exactly what I want, I just want them on the bumper too.

Oh yeah, in the photo the fenders and door sills are colored the same color as the stripes.

That would look better, but not around the license plate. The stipes have to be significantly wider than the plate to make them look like a continuation of the stripe.

If they are just a change from gloss to matte, that would be good. If they are lighter than the paint, I don't think it would look good. Also, how would you deal with the texture on the plastic?

That's a good point about the texture. I could probably sand it, but then it wouldn't exactly be reversible.

And as for the license plate, I'd probably do the "no holes" license plate thing to move it off to the side.

I'm glad the photo was just a photshop... In real life I think they would look much better. I don't know what the wash n wear would be on flat black stripes, but you could always remove them if you don't like it. $100 dollar bills don't fall out of my pockets, so I'd be sure I like it before completing the project.

Me neither, i wouldnt even think about doing this if i had to pay full price for it. I used to work for a sign shop, which is owned by a friend's dad, so i can get vinyl literally pennies on the dollar. The whole job will maybe cost me 50 bucks, if that. And trust me, if i actually do it it will be done perfectly with a vinyl plotter.
