How long did you remain "On Order?"

..and how recent was your order?

also.. one of the operators [ASK MINI] told me they cant foresee when they're projected to start production.. only its current status.. although I thought I remember reading a post stating that they can inform you of a scheduled production week.

Any info is greatly appreciated--

I think it can vary with the dealer. If they sold out this month's allotment before you ordered, then you would have to wait until they start building next month's orders.

Mine was on order for about three days, but another California dealer with better deals was supposed to be about a month slower for delivery. That was over a year ago. I hear that sales are up since then and the factory is running at capacity. So, you may have a longer delay.

For the last one, we ordered on Friday and he was already in production on Sunday. It was the beginning of the month and it was was our 4th order so they managed to get us one of the next week's production.

My dealer told me that it will show "On Order" for about 2 weeks but the car has actually started production (according to dealer.) I was told that about after two weeks everything starts rolling within the MINI LOUNGE area......hope that is true!

I'm going through the same thing right now ....ordered 6/24/08...still says "on order" at MINI lounge website. Also. what makes all of this worse is that I sold my car the day after I ordered the MINI !!!

I was on order for about 24 hours then it went "into production with no production date". Then on the first of July it went into production with a completion date of the 7th and when I called yesterday the cheeky automated attendant said that it was in the bodyshop with a completion date of the 5th.

I ordered June 21.

Things are moving a lot faster than I anticipated.

I ordered June 19 and the OL still says "On Order," though ASKMINI told me almost 2 weeks ago (and confirmed this week) that I was scheduled for week 28 production.

I ordered june 16th and as of last thursday (I called mini) production week had not been set yet. I was told 28 or 29 but they dont know yet. I guess it is going to be closer to 8 weeks at earliest rather than 5-6

It's just like Robin C says, it depends on how many slots your dealer has left for the month. When you place the order your dealer usually switches your car with another car they have ordered for their lot. This is why the order usually shows a different color and options initially than what you ordered. If all of the slots are taken and/or the dealer is a low volumn dealer with less slots, you wait longer.

Mine was on order for a good four weeks, and yes, ASK MINI was unable to tell me when it would go into production until a few days beforehand. Get that info from your MA.

Good luck waiting.

I was ON Order for 10 days. Your build week should be known. If you're not sure, confirm with the dealer.
Remember, the MiniUSA site is on a lag of about four days, from my estimation.

Your Mini will be on the docks in Southhampton before the status is updated to Awaiting Transport.

As a follow-up, once MINIs arrive at the VDC, how long are they there before they're transported to the dealers?

Moved to In Production in the last several hours. So, "On order" for 19 days. I've known for a week that I'm in week 28 (previously having been told 27...) but it wasn't until today that I got a VIN and changed status.

Fun process. Except for the waiting.
