looks a simple solution. How well does the relocated rearview mirror work?

Ok, I'll bite...Why did you move the rear view mirror?

Also, how did you secure the blind brackets to the channel in the sunroof? Screw right into metal?

Any problems closing the glass, or do you have to take the shade out to close the glass?

Moved the mirror because the stock mirror takes up so much viewable windshield space. Now I don't have to duck to see around corners.

Screwed the shade brackets into the plastic sunroof channel. No problems.

Sunroof opens and closes with shade in place. Just enough room.

How tall are you!?? I'm 6'7" and don't have to duck to see. You should totally cover the shade with aluminum foil!

It would look better if you matched the roof liner color. Good idea though...

Now you're talking, it looks much more professional in black!

Excellent idea for those making major complaints about sun/heat from the sunroof!!! I guess this does away with what there originally though?

My rear view mirror sort of helps set my radar detector in place. Can't mess with that!
NO! I'm not sticking no stinking velco to my headliner to hold the detector.

In the second picture you can see he slid the original shade under the new shade for added support, it's still there.

Is it possible just to replace this with the OEM shade? Pretty cool...

More details located on this thread:
https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...d.php?t=106833

"sunroof opaque shade, permanantly attached opaque roll-up sunroof shade "

I started this other thread just to draw more to the idea that it can be done for the 2007 Mini and newer. But I guess it makes more sense to reply to the original started by Umberto.

I had my sunroof tinted. $40.00. Problem solved and I don't have 2 shades to fool with.

Radar detector? In VA? In VAB, VA?

j/k...well, sort of!

Is it hardwired or do you only use it when you're not in VA?
