I'm thinking about fabricating a custom exhaust. I've done some work before an I was wondering what are everyone's thoughts on muffler and or resonator deletes. I'm thinking no muffler but idk if it'll be too loud/ricey without the resonator. I want to make it sound louder and better, hopefully without a drone.
Also, where can I find a diagram/pics of the underbody? I can't start until i get my buddy's lift but I want to get a rough idea.
I initially did the delete but started getting some mild hwy drone once the Oem stuff got burnt in say around 10k miles. It sounded great though, definitely not ricey. With the resonator deleted and the Magnaflow Muffler I am just a tad louder than a F56 JCW oem set up. Maybe like 25%.
Thanks for laughing at my pictures. Lol. I just cut the muffler off and welded in a straight pipe. Sounds awesome. Little drone. But that should be fixed when I weld in the tips. But the popping when in sport mode is so loud now. Here's a acceleration video.
Sorry I ended up having to go somewhere on my lunch break and didn't get a chance to take a video. I'll try to get one tonight before I head home. Mines not like SUPER loud but there is a guy on YouTube who deleted the resonator and the muffler and it sounds Pretty good but he said it's loud. Maybe you could try that if you don't like the muffler delete. If that's what you end up doing lol.
That's what I was originally thinking about but I want some semi pleasing sound accompanying the deafening machine gun fire. I am slightly afraid of sounding ricey though...
If you go on Facebook I have several vids with my original set up which was just rear muffler delete. Need to get some of the new set up which I like better. Current is resonater delete and Maganaflow rear muffler. Search *Grumble* on Facebook. Car has its on page lol
