I was accelerating after a speeding Mazda 3 sedan and my MCS pulled so hard to the redline that I forgot to shift into the 3rd. And the needle bounced about 3 or 4 times at the redline and I shifted up.

Bounced it? I noticed when I autocrossed it this summer it didn't bounce like the typical fuel cut out. It just got to the max and stayed smooth but no extra power for those parts where it just really isnt worth shifting to 3rd. I figured it was about time the design a rev limiter that isn't harsh on the engine. But maybe that was just me.

 

At what rpm are the 2nd gens bouncing. My 1st gen LDG tune is bouncing at 7500 and feeling about right. The JCW tune had it bouncing at about 7000.

Am about ready to order an '08 for my wife. Won't give up my '02 for a loooong time.
