Need Gearshift **** Info

I've got a couple of friends who can make a wooden gearshift **** for my R56, but I need some dimensions. Also, is it threaded or ?

(I don't know what information they actually need--just what I've been asked.)

Here is what the shift lever looks like:

As you can see, no threads. I use adaptors made by Doug Whalen. Here is some more info: http://www.robincasady.com/ShiftKnobs/Installation.html

The silver colored top of the shift lever looks as if it's made of wood. Is it?

This is the only car that I'm aware of that MAY have had a wooden shift lever; not really sure, though.

This may be an automatic because I never remember seeing them shift. They just ran faster to achive a higher speed. I wonder if they had the same problem with brake dust that some of us do on our MINI'S?

Definitely, except that two people have offered to do one as my Christmas gift. I'd really like to go that way if I can.
