New MINI on order

Hi everyone, I Just ordered a 07 Cooper MY/blake roof on Aug.18 and got the production number, however I was told that mine will be built on week 39. and according to my MA estimated delivery will be mid to late October that is such a long time.:impatient Does anybody know if Canada bound minis could be tracked? I know it can be done on US Minis.

Thanks, Reza

Unfortunately not :(

Your MA can tell you when it goes into production, when it's on a boat, and when it's on a train.

Good luck!

Congrats on your order, and if it helps any....I live in CA and the time from order to delivery was 60 days, which seemd forever. Also having the ability to track in the USA is not always a benefit. One just spends countless hours trying to figure out where a Mini is at.

Congrats on the order.

But I don't quite understand this whole having to order business - are there none at the dealer lots to your liking or is what you're optioning out very specific? When we bought our MCS last week, we simply picked one from the lot - there were probably a dozen new MCS' to choose from and at least twice that many non-S'.

For me, it is specificity of options and timing. My lease is up soon, and I don't want to pick up a MINI just yet. Ordering one gives me the dual benefit of getting exactly what I want, and when I want it. For giggles, I did check out the lot at the local dealership (numerous times), and they haven't had any MINIs w/ the exact specs in which I am interested.

In my case all the available cars on the lot were fully loaded to the gills and most with manual tranny. I wanted MC W/ automatic in Mellow Yellow. I've never had a car in Yellow before. They had one MCS in MY/black roof. I guess, I just fell in love with that colour combination. Also my budget was limited and no room to upgrade to the MCS.

Here in the bay area the dealers can have a few, when I ordered I spent a week of visiting dealers and there was nothing even close to what I was interested in. Not sure about what they may have now, but still see future owners in the bay area waiting for their Mini arrivial.

In my case all of the Minis on the lot were automatic and over $30k. To get one priced where I wanted and the look (color was the biggest deal for me) I had to order. Not to mention that its pretty cool to know that your car was made for YOU.

Congrats on the order! Hope the times passes quickly for you. My mini will probably arrive next week and time has gone by a lot quicker than I thought it would, once I hit production it flew by.

Sign of the times, ain't it?

I'm hoping our MCS will be our 7 year old son's first car in 10 years or so, with a clutch and all.
