There's nothing like a pimply youth to ruin your weekend.

I hope the damage isn't too severe and spotty is going to pay!!

Hopefully it was just the bumper cover that got skinned up.

Call his insurance company. They should very rapidly accept liability since it was a "simple" rear end collision.

Yeah, I know, it sucks. I got rear ended about 10 months ago.

Yeah it looks to be the bumper cover, and the grill below the bumber. I am really bummed out. My car is not new anymore

Let's see...18 yr old driver + rear ending another car = no doubt who's at fault in this case.

Sorry about your incident. The first blemish, however slight, is always the worst. Hope the shop gets it back into top shape for you.

I got rear-ended myself

I got rear-ended a few months ago by a full size Toyota Landcruiser, my insurance companies wrote off my car, and that's why I ordered my OB MINI, but my car was an 88 Corolla Wagon, so it might be a good thing I am sorry about your new MINI, once it's fixed it will be as good as new, may be you can put on an Aero Kit instead and make it better than before? mtgperson

Sorry to hear this.

I've been a royal butt since the delivery of this car on the tailgating issue. I could've cared less with my F150 truck. They would've only messed up their end by hitting my extendo hitch system. I think the Mini would like bad with one, but it's sounding better everyday.

We got rear ended at a red light. I looked in the rear view and saw her talking on a cell phone. Check out my gallery for the damages. Got $3700 on Percy.
We should get him back tomorrow. He has been out of commission and in physical therapy (paint and body shop) since August 3rd. He should have been home Friday, but they had a part delayed. Fingers crossed for tomorrow.
We had the body shop install the brake light pulser unit during repairs. It comes highly recommended by NAMers. Fingers crossed on it, as well.
We will be cruising Lake Tahoe sometime around the 10-12 of September on vacation. If your gonna road trip in a MINI, by golly, make it a ROAD TRIP!
Glad to hear you were not injured. It aint much of a consolation prize, at least it aint until you don't get even that. Hard to appreciate a nothing.
Good luck with rapid repairs and clear roads to you.

So sorry! Had a car of mine totalled by a teenager years ago. He nearly killed me running a red light. I feel for you...

Sorry you got hit. Is the pimply teenager still alive, or did you club him to death with the lug wrench? At least that would spare his daddy the crippling increase in insurance premiums.

I just had my rear bumper and rear air dam (black thing below the bumper) replaced. They also had to replace a metal piece underneath. This was only a 1 mph crash as I backed into a BMW that back into within a few inches of my car. My Park Distance Control didn't even see her before we hit. Anyway, it was $1500 at a shop my dealer uses.

Just like 4xAAA quoted, have a "third brake light pulser" installed, it may have prevented that rearend smack.

A caveat: Make sure a reputable shop carefully checks out the damage. I was rear-ended at fairly low speed in my Mazda Protege. There looked to be very minimal rear bumber cover damage. The other person's company wanted to offer $250 for the cover repair. Fortunately, it rained a few days later. The insiude of my trunk was soaked. Although there was no visible damage and everything, including the trunk lid, functioned the same (as far as I could tell), the force was enough to throw the rear panel slightly our of allignment. Have it checked out carefully!
