MFSW question

I have a quick question. If I order my car w/o bluetooth, will the MFSW still have a phone button on it? Thanks, Joe

Yes it will. It will also have a "voice activation" button on it as well.

I use it as my "call ninjas" hotline button. If you're wondering what I'm talking about, check out Hammer and Coop.

You dont have to have Bluetooth to use the Voice Control button for the NAV system.

All my previous MFSWs had a control to switch between radio, cd, etc. Am I missing something or does the Mini not have that? I mean, reaching over for those little buttons on the center stack is a pain. I often accidentally poke that Pinnochio nose button instead.

If you have the Nav system the Joystick control by the gearshift takes care of that.

That's even worse. I do have the nav. First, you have to go to the home screen, then the entertainment button, then select.

Oh lovely, just what I feared. I could use it for my top secret rocket launcher project though. Just kidding! I better call my MA and have it switched.

Switch to no MFSW? Keep in mind, I believe you must have the MFSW to get cruise control.

There is no Mini without MFSW IMHO. It should be standard, even if they bumped up the MSRP.

Yeah - this is lame. Our Mazda 3 has two additional buttons, one cycles through the audio options as you describe, the other mutes. Frankly Mini really needs these two options on the wheel, or at least a way to reprogram the ones that are there doing nothing.

LynnEl: I have the NAV too.... I can use the voice button on the MFSW and just say "AM" or "FM" or "CD" or "Auxillary", and it switches over.... Furthermore, once I say "FM" or "AM", I can say "Presets" and select a preset (1-12). In CD mode you can select tracks by voice, etc...

Another way to go to radio: If the screen is on Map (or telephone), and I want radio, I can quickly push the right-side button above the joystick (I think it's called the menu button), that will toggle between Map (nav)->Telephone->radio/cd/aux...

You do NOT have to use the left-side "Home" button get to the home screen then use the joystick... you can either use voice or the right side button...(!)

One more thing: If you are in a voice command, and don't know what voice command it will accept, you can say "Options" and the voice commander dude will let you know what the allowable menu selection are...

I hope that all works (better) for you!
