Rear Brake Issues

Hey everyone,

I have an 06 Cooper non S model. I bought the car knowing it needed a new clutch and rear pads. I installed a new clutch and rear pads/rotors (from minima is) and went on a long road trip. The clutch made the car feel like it was bran new! However, there was an issue with the rear brakes.
Just cruising down the freeway, the rear hubs got to hot that I can't touch them which is not good. Eventually, the excessive heat cook the grease and damaged the rear hubs. Before making the trip back, I replaced the rear hubs, pads , and calipers. Along the way home, I was checking for heat and the hubs were getting too hot to touch again. Due to having to back to work, I just drove it back and figured I'd take care of it once home.
So the question is, what could be causing the brakes to drag on the rotors? When I got to my destination and replaced things, I found the dust boots damaged on the calipers and the caliper brackets had corrosion on them. Figured I had the problem of dragging brakes licked because I replaced the calipers (they came with new mounting brackets) and I also replaced the pads (ones I bought from minimania) because maybe they were too aggressive for rotors with no ventilation. This has yet to solve the problem. So I'm picking ya'lls minds for suggestions. Thanks for all the help!

I'm guessing you turned the piston back while bleeding fluid when you replaced your pads? Did you check for seized or over adjusted E-barke cables?

I did and thought maybe the cable could be bad. When I installed the new calipers, I did a test drive with the e-brake disconnected at the caliper. The rotors were still getting really hot.

They were free and not binding after replacing on the jack stands, as in the wheel turned freely without much/any drag?

This is a good video to show the steps taken to properly replace the back pads, at 3:00 it shows the piston being turned back in.

just to clarify, you have new calipers and wheel bearings both sides and both sides have the overheat issue?

Could this issue be with the master cylinder?

One the first brake replacement, I didn't. After the second time, I replaced the rear hubs, calipers, and pads. I would think that front and rear would have the issues. I'm only having issues with the rear.
