R56 5 Star Crash Test Rating

From www.jalopnik.com

"Euro NCAP (European New Car Assessment Program) is an independent research body tasked with testing vehicle safety. After purchasing vehicles from dealers, they run them through some of the toughest safety tests around then tell you, the general public, how each car faired in completely unbiased, often harsh, minute detail."

The R56 got a 5 star rating for adult occupents. Not bad!!!

Check it out HERE. They have some pretty sweet crash videos on there too!

Great news! This should help me even more in putting to rest some of the concerns about me getting such "a small car".

Looks like our crotch area isn't too safe from those charts. MINI should includes free protective cups for us. :D

Aaaah, old news I see. My bad. I should have known that the MINI king would have already mentioned this on his site.

You failed to mention it only got 3 stars for passenger protection and a dismal 2 stars for pedestrian safety.

I really wouldn't want to be a poor pedestrian hit by the car although it gets kudos for being better than last years one star

Chows, where did you get this information about only 3 stars for passengers?

The car got 5 stars for adult occupants.

The car got 3 stars for a child in a child seat.

The car got 2 stars for pedestrian safety (most cars don't do well in this category - Only one car got a full 4 stars in this category, a Citroen).

Here are the results on all cars:
