Help!! This Bluetooth phone stuff has got me really confused!!

Okay, I am really confused now. :impatient
Which phones hook into the armrest charger without buying a snap-in?
I ordered the bluetooth w/car on order.....do I need to buy something else besides a phone? Is there a charger in the arm rest that comes standard with the bluetooth prep? Thank you again for clarifying this. I hate to bug everyone with this again, but my phone is kapput. I have to buy a new one a.s.a.p. and want to make sure I am making the right choice in phone.
(I am not to bright so be very descriptive LOL

You buy them separetly.
Ebay is your best bet (pay 50-100) vs 150 at the stealership

You have to buy them separately. There are specific ones for specific phones. It takes some doing, but if you look up the BMW website you can figure out which ones are available. Sorry I don't have a link, but I spent some time on this and figured out a Razr cradle is available, so I'm good to go. I think the price is $130 or so.

Putting the phone into the cradle will charge it and connect it to your exterior antenna.

NO. Some of those models use different pinouts. AND, they will not fit exactly in thew cradle...

I'm going to make my own connection in there.... I'll post it in the Nav/audio and/or electronics section when I get to it....

Not in the cradle itself, but taking the USB portion(cutting the rest away) then putting padding in (Pelican sells quality padding)-replacement stuff for their cases... and then running a small cable for any of the motorolla phones there...
Each time I've connected any of those phones via the mini USB jack the phones awlays connect to my PC just fine.

Unluckily, the dealer has been searching for 2 weeks for the part number for them to order that stinking $140 insert. I'm gonna live without it. Waste of money.
