R56 I can't believe it...
Well it shows up in Google
If it is alive/open and doing take-out, I can bring you up some, it would probably keep for the afternoon, if they put it into foil to-go. You want 4 servings for Tig, you and a couple of your SD friends?
Always looking for a reason to drive scooter on a little drive-by after it cools down. Today was spent at the Denver Botanic Gardens with wife and sister-in-law who is in for a visit, we took the Jeep GC down, how dull, like driving a boat.
Looks like Collacci's closed and was sold to Pasquini's from what I hear... but the Blue Parrot is open ans serves the same spagetthi/sauce so... yeah 4 orders would be perfect! We get there Thursday for registration
BTW Thanks much Don... looking forward to meeting you at MITM

How many servings, should I order up a kettle and put a trailer on scooter?
Ah darn, saw 4 after I reread my own post. We will be coming up Friday afternoon, so you can have a late lunch or save it for Saturday lunch or 'breakfast'

So I went for my little drive. Collacci's is gone, even the old sign is down. Guess we will have to load up on BP Spagetti, food for 4/6 to-go. Arriving in Copper around 3ish or so. I have a 4pm with AC for a UJ Rear Window Flag, so you know I will be up on the mountain.
We can figure out the repayment later. I'll front ya, if Tig will give Pat (Sweet wifey) a good safe ride in her Cabrio without scaring her to death. She's a little timid around my R56 scooter.

I'm planning on going up the mountain top-down, heater, and seat heaters blasting, hair blowing in the wind, and soak up those beautiful stars.Another MINI cabrio MCSC from San Diego (Sandy) is coming too. I know she wouldn't mind having company either. We'll find your wife a seat, no problem.
Don... you are the best... glad to be returning to my native state for some MINI fun... and thank you for being sooo kind. Tig's never been and already she's commenting on just how friendly Colorado people seem
Eagerly anticipating shaking your hand.
Is there anything special from San Diego you or your wife might like us to bring?

One week ago, right about now, Mike ordered his R56. What a week it's been! :impatient
:impatient
and back again, several times.
This morning, he sent me an IM on Yahoo...it was priceless. "He's been BORN!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!" Mike's new baby is in Production and he was given a VIN. It made it real for Mike. It also made the painful process of de-modding his beloved Church's "face" last night a little less traumatic. He's been over the moon happy all day long. He was even smiling when we pulled Churchill and Mr MSC2U side by side tonight and took pictures of the "twins"...Church's front end back to stock, and Mr MCS2U with his new character. I've refrained from documenting the "de-mod" process in pictures only out of love and respect for Mike; not wanting to hurt him but he's fine with it. Blair will post some pics soon for y'all to enjoy.
Tonight, we spent 3 more hours in the garage...with Blair, Ed, JJ (batcat), Mike and I. We removed the USS from Church and carefully packaged it for shipping to its new home. Off came the UniChip and GTech. Both are ready for their new owners (to be delivered tomorrow). There was much more laughter tonight than last night. The usual banter, perverted minds, singing, giggling, and chatter was (almost) back to normal.
We even figured out how to set up a streaming video webcam in the garage for the "Blair & Mike" MINI reality show.
No, seriously, we did. It wouldn't be hard at all. We're just wondering about network traffic and what it will take to bring Blair's neighborhood to a virtual screaming halt should 20+ NAMites log on all at once.
There was much discussion about the new baby, the first mods we'll do - a CAI, alcantra shift/brake boot combo in black, a custom Whalen (only fitting for such a fine MINI masterpiece), the M7 Oil Catch Can from Church (part of Church's lifeblood, his legacy to the new baby). We'll be pushing Peter, Randy, and Shelly at M7 hard for that new R56 splitter - for the JCW aero kit.
We were
today when a club member stated that she wanted a MINI...used...one she knew had been loved....and another club member suggested, "buy Church". That would be both very awesome...and....very...weird. We'll see what fate has in store for us
Mike's still floating around the house, and when he does sit down, I hear the Owner's Lounge music, or the production video, or the VDC tour
Given that MINIUSA works 3, 8-hour shifts, Monday - Saturday...Mike's DYING to know what stage his R56 is in, who is touching him, and how things are going.
I suspect it'll be another sleepless night.

a whole new level of paranoia. OY!
Gee tig! Still a ways to go! Sounds like the news about production comes at a good time. It would have to be harder if Church got de-modded and gone, and production were still weeks off!
All that talk about Italian food made me homesick! The Northwest Denver area had some really good restaraunts when I was growing up! Only Olive Garden type stuff around here. Maybe I can get me some when I go to MITM... That's an idea!

Something else I HAVE to have!:impatient Those are the most cool ***** I've ever seen! (How'd I miss them till now?)
Oh man... THAT'S a generous offer!!! I'm going to try to spend a couple days in Arvada/Westminster to visit family. One way or the other I'm going to HAVE to get some GOOD Italian food. Been literally years since I've had any!
