Thanks for the well-wishes everybody. I had a great time with Sam this afternoon. I've started a welcome/pics thread.

I LOVE IT.

Ya know, having reverse next to 1st has me all confused. Though in that case it was how the dealer parked it.

Thanks on the stripes. I like it alot.

Is the oddest thing... I when I did the configurator and specified the 16" bridgespoke wheels it added it, I did notice that on my order sheet it had the wrong wheels listed *and* then the right ones too. I probably should have brought it up when I noticed it. Looks like there was a glitch that let two sets of wheels go in the system and only the first one used when setting up my car. Dealer is remedying it asap, so no harm-no-foul.

After hours of driving, a new **** is definitely in my near future.

Hopefully you didn't get charged for both wheel types .

Mike,

I emailed you a scanned PDF version of the NAV section of the owner's manual. I also had a scanned PDF of the voice activation shortcuts but I can't seem to find it at the moment. (That could be due to the bourbon I've consumed tonight though). I'll look for the file again tomorrow, errr... later today. If I can't find it, I'll rescan the 5 pages from the manual.

well now..

In only a day.. I am behind again nearly 100 posts... you guys really don't leave the computer do you ..

Emily, way cool MINI.. Love the stripes..
SimpsonGI, congrats on tracking down your perfect MINI..

Mike, nice to know you got some sleep..
And with your MINI plushie.. awwwww .. how cute..

Me - I am "stealing time" while watching the kids this morning.. But last night I was suffereing from the lack of MODing.. that I actually was wrenching on my own MINI (just and R53) last night..

Anyway, I love the developments and shared excitment with the new MINIs arriving... I am enjoying that new car feeling all over again..

Until next time,
Blair

Robin, scooter thanks you for the complement. 1967, that was some time ago, the Ferrari is a fast beast, this one likes to step out when you push a little hard on a left turn from the light. Robert had the tail come right around, lucky it was Louisville and no 'traffic'. It was on our local Louisville test track, a local officer of the law was providing escort. Friend of the family so to speak, it is an Italian town you know. I will insert a picture a bit later.

SDmike, Don... I'm... stunned with envy, that is one of my favorite Ferrari Autos.

Pasta Rocket **** FTW!!!
Yep, not mine to drive day to day, so sorry Tigs, I don't think the 360 will make it to MITM, so sad.

One of our local enthusiasts, he held traffic for the big $*** delivery truck and then provided a test drive escort. Small town policemen are great people when you treat them with respect and friendship.

Emily, thanks for the link, glad you enjoyed your long drive home. Did you get a blister on your hand from shifting in the twisties?

So Mike where is Deacon?

I'll have Mike login in a couple mins and post the Carmen's progress. It's getting closer to the Panama Canal!

He got his MINI "fix" this morning. We went and had breakfast in Escondido - just down the street from Brecht MINI. So, naturally, we had to stop in and visit the Sales Manager, Jim, and our Salesguy Shawn.

Mike's a born salesman. I'm not sure if that's good or bad, but he's definitely enthusiastic about MINIs. We pull up onto the lot, hop out, and there is an older couple looking at MINIs. They know nothing about them, and Mike jumps in...showing them the various models, used and new, tells them all about after market mods (like they cared), and introduced them to our MINIs.

The wife was all about LilTiger...."ohhh, that's nice", "ohhh, can we order one like that". Well, sure...but when it arrives it looks like that one over there *points to a bone stock MCSC*. "oh" she says. "You mean...you did all these cool stuff to it after you got it?". Mhmmmm, we're freakish like that.

So, Mike resumes his sales pitch...the couple was talking about the choice between a Lexus and a MINI. Mmmmkay, why don't you take the R56 for a test drive? Which one do you like? The husband points to the NFR Cooper. Mike proceeds to tell them all about the Cooper and what it offers. The husband likes it...needs to test drive it. So, that was the end of Mike's sales pitch - *enter real salesguy stage right*.

The couple goes for a test drive in the NFR one. They return grinning like kids. Mission accomplished!!!

We don't know if they actually purchased/ordered today, but I wouldn't be surprised. We'll have to call Jim/Shawn later and inquire about our commission.

It's always a blast getting new folks to drink the kool-aid and join the cult!

Well lets see. Tig's is a nice girl, Mike?

I will be nice, that's in my basic nature.

Deacon is about to bounce off the coast of Panama, that looks like fun.

Mike, you going to try to capture webcam pictures?

Tig's you and Pat have something in common already, she loves to shop. After all these posts, not sure I want to know what you might have found that matches scooter.

Gotta go take a nap, all this typing is making me tired.

Thanks I wonder if this is Tig's source, she seems to find some 'interesting' ones.

It 'tis... but probably not for long. Mike is very **** about internet security and our home network. He says SmileyCentral is loaded with spyware and such....even though "they" say it's not.

I suspect Mike's right

I went to the SC site, it is heavy spyware central. Internet security is one of my big grumble areas too.

I had to crash out of a couple of sites today, at least Smiley Central did not force a reboot, but it did not want to let me get around the download until I quit the firefox session I had open. Hummmm.

Time to see if spysweeper av is still running on this machine. It did not burp when I was getting prompted to download their invasive little tool. I will try it on a less critical home computer, perhaps later.

Thanks for the confirm. Do you spysweep your home machines?

I too am real carefull about spyware and such. I'd resisted Smiley Central for a long time but I recently downloaded the toolbar. I've not had any issues yet and it hasn't been tagged in my nightly scans. But it always good to be safe.

Carmen Update

It looks like she is moored in Manzanillo.

Here is a screen capture from Aisfree. She is on the Cristobal Anchorages map

AISFree Panama Maps

The Panama Overview map does have several clickable areas. This should be used for navigating around to the various sections as she moves through the locks.

As a general rule, any freebee you get on the internet contains spyware, spam and/or tracking. Why else would they give you something for "nothing"?

Woot! Thanks for the screen and the links Gary!

It's going to be tough the next couple of days for me to get online, busy packing, checking over the MINIs, making sure everything is settled for MITM.

But it also contains Ad-/Spyware, my anti-virus program refused access to their Browser ad-on. FYI: it's ADSPY/Drop.57343.B and ADSPY/MyWebSearch.57344 . Maybe I've to find a better way to enhance my smilies.

Hey! I hope that MITM will be a fun enough event to distract you some Mike, though I have no doubt that Deacon will be in the back (or front) of your mind.

If you want, I (or I'm sure Gary) would be willing/able to text you with status updates while your gone, if you won't have internet access.

I'm having so much fun with Samwise, I wish I could break free of my work backlog and go to MITM. A road trip and gathering would be a blast.
