LynnE|, yes correct, they have to make a dime by passing along the info. to somewhere. I just don't like the no option automagic download of an .exe I have been seeing on some sites. Some of them will not let you cancel out without crashing your browser window or your machine.

SimpsonGI, nice update on the Carmen, I hope they moored gently or Deacon could have slipped into the bay. Hey! A little bath never hurts.

Did you get your Demi over to the shop for the shield?

Mike, when are you, Tigs and the crew pulling out for your drive up to MITM? Should be a fun drive, how many MINIs?

Until later.

Why not, perhaps next year.

If you want, I (or I'm sure Gary) would be willing/able to text you with status updates while your gone, if you won't have internet access.

I'm having so much fun with Samwise, I wish I could break free of my work backlog and go to MITM. A road trip and gathering would be a blast.
Emily, I think Mike and Tigs will have internet in Copper, but if they don't I will have my old laptop at the event, will have to check for a free hotspot or just get the building wireless $9 a day.

You could just walk in to work and say I need a stress break, drive out to Copper and hang with the family. I'm sure a couch or two could be available. Then I have heard Mike and Tigs have a full cabin.

Next year perhaps or Vegas in the Spring, the Spring Dragon or the Dragon in the Fall which is being oraganized now, that would be a road trip for you.

You guys give a lot of good information... who knew mini lovers were so smart. I guess the choice in cars says it all.

Well, J.E. and me went to work this morning! I had a blast on the way in. I am loving the acceleration. This car is definitely more fun to drive than the M3 I used to have. It just feels connected. The M3 had a lot of power and could corner with the best of them, but the MCS just has that "je ne sais quoi" quality about it.

I must say though I will have to put some type of sub in the back... I need a little more bass. I was thinking either a 10W6 or 10W3 from JL audio in a stealthbox. Mike, your thoughts would greatly be appreciated. I am not looking to be obnoxiously loud, just casually precise.

I realized tonight that I have MOCD... I walked outside to get something from my car, and before I knew it I had my detailing wax in hand along with my microfiber towel... J.E. got a 20 minute quick detailing. This cannot be normal!

Is it sad that I was almost tempted to do the same thing at work?

Emily, Samwise is a very goodlooking mini.

^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^^ regarding needing a Sub.

Here's a little set-up that gives good sub.

Mike and Blair built it themselves. It is truly amazing.

I highly recommend JL I have 2 10W3V3 in my boot right now, and man are they nice!

Ok if you are looking for just good clean bass... I'd wait till the new stealthbox is done. They are loaded with a 10W 0 or 1 I forget which, dont need a ton of power and won't rattle the fillings out. The boxes are application specific and built for the sub. (Blair and I learned the box is the most important part) and came out with really nice results.

I have heard the stealthbox in a R53 with good clean power and it is amazing.

I'm impressed with the ones I have, it's matched to the head unit, the main amp has the 5.1 DTS, PL2, DD processor the other 2 power the subs at 320RMS. Keep in mind those are about 4-5 year old models and not made anymore. I keep hearing that Alpine's latest amps are not built the same and quality has gone down a bit.

If I had to get something new, I'd look at the JL amp.. matched to the sub, very nice, or if $$ wasn't an issue... Zapco would be my 1st choice.

TH, perfectly normal, I find myself wiping off brake dust when I walk through the garage, sometimes just the outer rim.

Not a sub or amp expert, but I know Mike and crew have some experience, so they will advise. I think Robin is into a big upgrade on his R56, too, he may have a thought.

Mike, Tigs see you all at MITM, I may drive up on Thursday just to hang about and take a run in Scooter, then come up on Friday for the rest of the weekend. I imagine I will see you around the registration area in the early afternoon or the DP car wash area. I think a lot of folks will be washing after the morning drive up on Thursday.

Yes, I dropped Demi off this morning for the Clear Bra install. I may not get her back until Wednesday though. The shop is pretty backed up.

I will do what I can Mike. I need to try to fix my wife's PC tonight. It died a few days ago, hopefully I can bring it back to life.

Great!! She'll probably hang out there for a day, maybe two, before actually making her way through the locks. If it holds true to previous schedules, the Southbound traffic goes through in the aternoons/evenings.

I got real lucky with the Isolde and happened to check just as they started to position herself to make it through that outer barrier and into the passageway. Hopefully I'll be able to catch it for the Carmen as well.

Nah, that's an OB Cooper on its way to a dealer's allotment. At least, based on my best guess at color verification

Deacon hasn't been seen on deck. Either he's seasick and hiding, or he's carousing with the female MINIs. Since he belongs to Mike, we can all draw our own conclusions.

Has she moved from anchorage? Usually, she will go into where the NORDBORG is now (on the free map), do customs, then go back to anchorage until her turn comes.

I've been out taking my MINI in to have it's butt fixed, and nose powdered. Then buying wood. Did Carmen already dock for customs?

Deacon is dropping, and about ready to enter the birth Canal. Mike is complaining of back ache and increased pain with each contraction. We're getting close.

Breeeathe, baby....just breathe. Mmmhmmm...that craptastic advice didn't work when I was in labor either.

So, where is the Carmen? How far from the Gatun locks?

The free aislive site (an hour behind) still has her at anchor.

She'll probably be anchored overnight and go through the Canal sometime tomorrow afternoon/evening.

So, all this heavy breathing is false labor? Someone is getting jumpy.
