Seems we are starting to get the timing down of the mini operations and how they are reported...

 

Yep. At the VDC, being my dealer is only an 1 1/2 drive from VDC it shouldn't be too long!! The next boat is going to be loaded up with minis, since hte Undine ony have 78 on it, so I'm gussing the VDC will want them our of there in a hurry to make room for the next batch...

 

All, my MA told me my baby was loaded on a truck on Monday and I still have NOT seen his nice hard body (I live less than 2 hours away). I even drove by the dealership just to make sure it wasn't in the shop for some terrible deformity and thankfully it wasn't! Just wanted to know if anyone else was unloaded on Monday and if they have received their cars yet.

 

T-Bone was delivered to Mini of Sterling last night so I stopped by this morning to say hi! He is certainly quite an eyeful! I just kept walking around and around with a huge grin on my face checking him out from every possible angle. I really love laser blue a lot; it's such a lively, fun color. BUT I wish I could have a bunch of MINIs with different colors to reflect whatever mood I'm in on any given day. I found no defects on the outside and through the window, I could see T-Bone's wonderfully elegant yet quirky R56 interior. Being a quirky fellow myself, the interior suits me just fine.

Next the dealer has to install mudflaps and send T-Bone out for the clear bra treatment. Then me and my guitar will have to go into D.C., stand near a subway station, put out a tin cup and start singing. Hey, I gotta' pay for this car somehow.

The west coast VDC is in Oxnard, California as I recall.

So I've been tracking my car's progress and on the WW site it says my car was loaded on the Patriot, which docked in NY on Sunday. However, the latest status on the car still says its onboard the boat, i.e. it says loaded in southampton but no unloaded notification, even after the boat left NY. It does say its destination is NY, though.

Man I hope my car isn't sent to the wrong port!

 

T-Bone is waiting patiently at the dealer for clear bra installation; that will happen on Thursday. I will take delivery at 1:00 pm Friday...wish it were sooner but at least I see the end (or actually the beginning) in clear sight. Can't wait!!!

It took a few hours for mine to update, AFTER the Undine left the NY port last Thursday. I'm guessing since yours was Sunday, and on a holiday week, it may take longer to update.... hang in there. Where are you taking delivery?

I'm going to beat you to it! Minibird hit the dealer this morning, and they will try to have it ready tomorrow (Tues), if not, I'll pick up Thursday afternoon.

Looks like Minibird will be the first Week 24 car!! Weeee haawwww! The wait seems to have went fast, now... couldn't say that a few weeks ago! ;-)

Not being first hurts!! But Birdman, since it's you I can live with it . From the dealer prep perspective, T-Bone will actually be ready today at around noon. But yeah, I know, that doesn't count. Have you already taken a sneak peek at MiniBird?

I have not peeked yet. Was thinking about it, but thought that would make it worse knowing it was waiting for me...

I just looked at the Week 23 thread, I'm going to beat most of them too.... glad I'm on the east coast.

 

Birdman, it's certainly possible, although is still hasn't updated today (Tuesday). I'm not too worried, it must just be a glitch. There is just some sneaking worry since I got rid of the car the Mini is replacing on Saturday and am now car-less. I need to drive!

Your car has moved pretty quickly. I've been following your process so I can have an idea of how long my car will take. Thanks for all the updates you posted, actually very helpful. My car is being delivered to Westchester Mini, so I'm guessing time until it reaches dealer should be about the same as yours.
