Antenna base

The antenna is broken out of my antenna base. What I have been offered for a new one has a smaller footprint, or, they want to sell me one for navigation for a lot more money. I don't have navigation. Suggestions? Thanks

What exactly broke? I replaced my antenna with a stubby and from what I recall there is a small threaded piece between the base and antenna. Did that piece break? If not, one from a junk yard or from someone parting one out would probably work.

Hello, the new one is a little smaller as there was an update on the part. Is the threaded part shot?

The stubby antenna was hit by a low branch and broke the threaded insert out of the base. I tried gluing it back in with an epoxy, since the contact between the threaded insert and the internal was just pressure. After a few months, the stubby antenna and insert fell out. This time, I did not find them. There is a base that is the same shape, but it costs twice as much, as it has navigation in it. My car does not have navigation. I suppose I can put in the smaller base, but I think there is probably a mark in the paint where the old one was. I don't know if it will polish out or not.

Most people get the new stock to stock mounded base. Unless they have fin type. I have seen this and most people can polish it out, i would pull the base out and try some rubbing compound first. See if the top blends away.

When you change the antenna base, it is possible to go remove part of the headliner - on top of the barn doors - by removing the weatherstripping.
