R55 Buying New
Buying New
Hey!
I myself am a first time buyer. Just placed a deposit on a 2016 Clubman non-S ( 5 hours ago!!
). Test drove them both and could tell the difference in engines, decided it wasn't worth the price difference and got the non-S with more features. Would you have sacrificed features for performance?
Also, does anyone have tips for a first time buyer in the Mini-verse?
Cheers!

Congrats! We are new to MINI and Clubman owners too.
Luckily there aren't too many accessories available right now for the F54 but I would recommend searching the forum vendors before you buy from your dealer. It looks like you can save quite a bit of money. Also its fun to see if there are any local mini clubs around you as ours have track and rallye events we can do.

Still new to this site, I've been sorting through it for what seems like minutes (turned out to have be an hour). Only just got to the vendors when you responded
. I've still got four days until I get to pick it up, but I'm already looking into cleaning supplies.
A friend suggested Autoglym for shampoos and soaps, do you use anything special for yours?

I see, I see. Well, I test drove the S Clubman and the 5Dr S, they were both amazing. The choice to get more features was based on my using it as an in-city commuting car to and from school. Performance wouldn't be the most important thing in my mind at that point.
We test drove the three and four cylinder clubbie and hardtop. The three had more than enough performance for my wife, and honestly beyond the ego of it all I'd be ok with it as well. Good luck and enjoy it. Our car is waiting for a ship, she opted for the hardtop.
Btw if you intend to keep long term, change oil more frequently than Mini does by scheduled maintenance.

Also, on the subject of oil. I was planning on changing every 8000km, but am finding it terribly tempting to follow the included 3yr maintenance plan that comes with the car.
