Light leveler sensors

If I lower my 2014 clubman S with Bi-Xenon headlights, how do I adjust the headlight sensors mounted to the rear control arms.

They are not adjustable, Now if they are bent ( metal tab parts ) , from like going over a bump or something hit it you can bend them back. Once they are straight you adjust the headlight from the front housing so you sensors are level.

If you lower it a little , the same for the front and rear they will auto adjust. If you slam the car, then you will need to bend the tabs. Lower the car first then check your beam. Mark the level of the cutoff pattern on the beam on a garage door with a small mark, mark your distance, use that as a template and point of reference after you lower.

Yea, if you are lowered , then you will has to bend it a little and then check, then bend , then check. Doing on a level surface , with the car pointed at the garage. You will have to do the front and the rear brackets for the sensors. Just do they at the same amounts, moving just a hair each time to you find the middle , good point and the headlights are level to the beam.

So a minimum lower, say 30-35mm, should not change anything.

Now then, will I be able to attach the rear sensor to a hotchkis rear control arm ?

On a related note, I see ECS has Bilstein B14's on sale. If I use them to do a minimum lower, is there anything else I might need for a complete install beyond the Hotchkis rear control arms.

You should be fine at that rate , its when people slam them to the ground, like on air or a super low coilover system. Again you will e fine on the B14's also.

That would be a good fit, did you do your rear sway bar and front sway bar ? I would say that would complete the suspension.

I Have a Hotchkis 25mm rear sway bar. I really like how it works, great feel in the corners. Sadly though, I missed your B14 sale. It was over before I could order. Less than $900 was a great price. Have to wait for the next sale I guess.

The sensor attaches to the upper arm. Typically people only replace the lower arm. So you should not have to touch anything to do with the level sensor.

Just get a front bar then also. Sorry you missed that sale. You see something, you have to jump on it. Goes quick.

Could go ST XTA for front adjustment.

Yes of course. I should have looked more closely. That makes it easy.

So true.

I'm going to wait till I get my coilovers, and see how the balance is on the car. If I think I need a little more in the front, I will look into a front sway bar.
