Tire pressure - 32psi on door what do you run, even wear?
Hi,
I have Conti pro contact runflat 195 55 R16 tires. When I got this car it had 37psi in the tires. I reduced that to 32psi per the door label. I searched and did not find answers to these questions:
1. Anyone get even tire wear at 32PSI, the recommended pressure (assuming rotating too)?
2. What pressure do you run and still have even wear (assuming rotating)
3. Why does 09 convertible stepdaughter has list 35PSI and my '12 clubman 32 psi? I have heard clubbys have softer springs, not sure it that is true and a factor.
Thanks!

I run the factory specs, and with 6,000 miles put on by me since late Jan, I'm ready to rotate the tires. I've already aligned my Clubman back in March, so between all those things, my tire wear is as good as I can get it. And is even.

40 here. 38 is ok... but 40 seems to be good when its colder out... (Non run flats)..
Going down to 34, ride is much better, but car is not as much fun to drive... even less with non run flats. (factory 16" wheels..)

The continentals ride better with a little more air in them, which is the opposite of what you'd expect. Somewhere between factory recommended and max psi on tire minus 4-5 psi when cold should be good wear wise. Start at the top and let out 1 psi at a time till you find what you like.
Thanks for all the replies! Looks like I can get even wear at many pressures. In my previous car I got center band wear due to too much pressure trying to avoid that here. Again, thanks!

Pressure changes about 1 psi per 10 degrees of temperature change so take that into consideration as well.
We just encountered the temp drop Sunday. We were at MINIs in the mountains (our MINI5280 club event, was great!) and after the cold 44F night all our Countryman tires had low pressure. That cleared up after driving a short bit. Nice to know the rate of drop, never did before , thanks!
