This is an integral part of the car. it may help us to know what you are needing to do and why you want to take it off.

Integral?? it's only a trim surely.

the reason for removal is to have the roof resprayed, and the replace so there are no nasty paint lines with masking

Start by opening the door and the club door if that is the side you are removing.
Grab the rubber seal and pull it down.
From the front of the car there are a number of torx screws that need to be removed.
5 or 6. Make sure you remove the smaller ones not the larger one if you have a sunroof. Once the screws are removed start in the back and pull the trim straight towards you. Once the trim if free it will still be held in the front by a peg. Slide the trim towards the front of the car and the trim should come off. I have pics it that can post if needed. I wouldnt drive the car around without the trim as it needs to be there for the window to seal at the top.

R50 2005 roof gutter trim removal problem

I have scoured the internet and cannot find anyone else having the issue of the back half of the roof gutter trim ALSO being screwed on. I removed 5 screws above the door, tried popping off the back half and it wouldn't budge. I pulled it out enough to see that there are screws along the whole length (???), but they are inaccessible as they are under the rear quarter windows. Any thoughts on how to replace my roof gutter trim then? So frustrating. I didn't order these $50 apiece parts for my health. Also, I'm the original owner - it has not been modified.

You are in the R55 clubman section, you need the r50 section.

Here are the parts and the diagram to show how it mounts with the clips. 51317054068

Hello - I just found this thread and have joined the forum to try to get a little help. I have a 2012 Clubman S. The left and right roof moldings have corroded through the rubber and they are being replaced. However the parts that arrived (and which are supposed to be OEM) have a high profile, are a dark matte gray textured plastic instead of the flat black low-sheen rubber and so they don't match the front and rear seals. Have the left and right roof moldings been changed or have I received the wrong parts?
