R50/53 Repairing a Ding in Front Fender
Hi all,
When I got out of my MINI earlier tonight, I accidentally banged the door against my other car
, causing a small ding in a metal trim piece attached to the front fender of my other car
(My MINI was unharmed).
When I removed the trim piece, I could barely feel the ding from other side of the trim piece. Does anyone know whether I can push the dent out from the other side (I thought of massaging the trim piece back and forth with the handle of a screw driver)?
I would appreciate any advice.
Thanks.

Uhhh...I'm curious, what's the other car (the one with the ding)? I'm just thinking that unless it's a 1930s Bugatti or something, I'd leave it alone. Door dings (particularly little ones in the trim caused by a MINI) are part of life and you're probably only going to make matters worse by messing with it. IMHO.
Try this product:
http://www.dingkingtool.com/
This thing fixes dings and dents that traditional Paintless dent removal (PDR) methods simply can't.
You can take it to your nearest PDR repair shop (Dent Wizard, etc) but if they can't get to the ding/dent from behind the affected metal panel, they either try to drill a small access hole or won't touch it at all.
That's where the Ding King dent removal tool comes in.
Have fun!

Hi all; thanks for taking the time to respond.
"My other car" is actually my partner's car. The car is an '94 Oldsmobile Cutlass Supreme convertible. The tiny dent or ding is in the trim piece that runs along the upper edge of the front wheel well.
I was able to remove the trim piece from the vendor.
I am thinking about 'hammering' the dent out from the other side of the trim piece (perhaps, using the handlle of a knife and gently striking at the dent from the other side). What do you think? My partner thinks that I would probably do more damage.
Please Help!
Thanks all.
