After ONLY three months I took delivery of MAGILLA today (10/03/08). What a blast! I wish I didn't have to get out of him to post this thread.
When I pulled up to the dealer, MAGILLA was on the show room floor, in the front window. I may be prejudiced, but he really looked great sitting there.
Then while I was sitting inside him, trying to figure out all of the new bells and whistles, waiting for the paper work to be finished, I was approached by at least six prospective and present owners to compliment me on him.
The Sparkling Silver with the Hot Chocolate cloth/leather interior is absolutely gorgeous! MAGILLA was a big hit. I think I positively influenced some future sales.
I am like a kid on Christmas morning. OMG! What fun and over 30 MPG to boot! After spending the past three months here on NAM and the Owners' Lounge, I was in no way prepared for the pure fun of driving this baby. The S with Sport Suspension is pure joy to drive. I was somewhat concerned that the suspension might be a problem on rough roads, but so far I have found the ride firm, not harsh.
I will be posting pictures - soon. (if I stop driving long enough)
Congrats motor on!! We still have to have our Clubman S enter the panama canal in a couple of hours. Our pickup date is 10/23, hopefully the tickets are purchased.
Im still cant understand why its 30mile drive to the dealer and a 300mile trip home from the dealer .
I, unfortunately, was unable to take a proper first drive as I had to come to work tonight. (you can see how hard I am working) and the wife was driving my Subaru home because the trade in offer from the dealer was less then 25% of what KBB said it was worth. (the offer was too low to even be considered an insult!)
On my first day off, we are going to go wandering around the back roads and really enjoy ourselves.
Congratulations! It is an awesome experience. When I picked up mine, I stared at it for a while. I had the same thought, "Damn, that is one good looking car!" Then I just sat in it for a while. Now, I even enjoy cleaning the car!
Then I have started motoring! Ridiculous! Love it!
Our Clubman is going onto production next week. Is yours Sparkling silver with the Pure silver roof? If so I wanna see a picture. I had to "settle" on Lasar Blue to keep the peace at home, but I think Sparkling Silver with Pure Silver on the roof would be awesome!
Can't wait to see pics! Looking forward to see what it'd look like if I went for HC instead of Tuscan Gravity... :D BTW, averaging 35.7mpg/automatic/95%Hiway
It just gets better and better. I couldn't believe it could get better than the initial drive home, but after it broke in at 1600 miles or so it was even more awesome.
I am so possessive of the Clubman and now I'm figuring out how to get a Crossover when they come out.
Minis for me forever!
