Ordered Finally

So I finally ordered my Clubman after 2 months of debate. We were looking at an SUV or the Clubman. Eventually we came to the conclusion that we don't need all the space of a SUV and the gas mileage and fun to drive factors of the Clubman are amazing.

We ordered an Astroblack with black roof, and black leatherette seats, premium package, multifunction stering wheel, comfort access, auto, and R90 16in rims.

I do have some questions though. How much better do the sports seats sit than the regular seats? All of the cars at the dealership had the sports seats and we ordered the regular. Also I was wondering about the rims. I was wondering if I should go ahead and keep the order on the R90 rims or change to something that might be lighter?

Congratulations!! Once you get your production #, you can begin obsessing and tracking (see 1st Gear's forum sticky on how to do that). Of course you made the right decision!

Can't help you with the rims and as for the sport seats vs regular, I prefer regular - they're very comfortable. I'm sure you'll get more input over the next 24 hours, though.

The sports seats are a bit firmer than my BMW had.
The MFS radio controls are mandatory!
I went with the 16" rims for a smoother ride, per others on these Mini sites.
Things to purchase for your new baby:
1)New black towels for washing/drying.-
2)Hit Sprawl-mart or Tar'get and pick up a pack of Micro-towels. $5 for 12. They're big wash cloths. The brake pads leave plenty of dust and you'll want to clean them up regularly.-
3)California Duster-priceless to wipe off the hood/window dust. Again, pick up at the mega store. $7 for a black Clubman is cheap.
Get ready to meet strangers who want to meet/discuss your Clubman.

I have already started tracking it. It is supposed to go into production the week after next. The MA thought it might get bumped up to next week since he had one earlier yesterday that was supposed to start during the 22 wk get bumped to the 21st wk. I'm super excited.

Excellent - so you know all the little tricks of the trade, eh? It is exciting and it does seem that many of us have taken delivery sooner than we'd originally been told - of course it all depends upon your dealership's current allotment, but this is great for you. After two months of decision making you must be heavily into anticipation.

Oh an another question that might seem dumb. When you get rims that are listed as accessories on the Mini site do they come with tires?

Not sure what you mean, though perhaps others will be. You get to choose what "wheels" you'd like when you order...Oh, I see now..when DragonWagon wrote "rims" - rims=wheels.

Nice spec you got there. Congratulations! Once you get behind the wheel of the Clubman you'll be saying to yourself... "SUV? what was I thinking!!"

Word of caution!!!

Don't buy colored towels to dry a dark colored vehicle.
The dye they use make the fibers not so soft.
Use only WHITE 100% MADE IN USA towels.......high quality. Cost more but worth it.
