buttons north of the shifter

hey all,

i tried looking around and couldn't find this answer anywhere. does anyone know what's the deal with the middle button that is right in front of the shifter? i know the driver's side is the sport button, the passenger side is the DSC, but i haven't been able to figure out what the middle button does.

thanks for any input...

I believe that button activates/de-activates some of the fuel-economy features available elsewhere in the world but not here.

I've never even noticed a button there. I'll have to look when I get home tonight.

Some one posted a picture of it from a Euro delivered car. It was to turn on/off the auto start/stop function.

No TWISTER ,thats up by the right side power window switch . That is why you can not get rear fogs and ejection seat on the same MINI .

The middle button de-activates the automatic stop/start function in Euro-spec cars.

Thank you David! OK, now can someone come over tomorrow and give me a remedial course on all those clickings that will allow me to know what the heck I'm attempting to program? I'm only slightly kidding.

Thought I was fairly handy with this kind of thing but pushing on the end of the stalk to make various changes is a bit confusing to me... I do not have the Navigation, just to be clear. Today when I was trying to figure out some of the controls via the radio *****, I started calling MINI's Road Side Assistance!? I quickly punched another button and it went off. I guess it's going to take me more time than I expected to learn the ins and outs of some of this stuff.

Hmmm, wonder how hard it would be to wire something to use that unused middle button (at least in the U.S.). I can see all kinds of interesting possibilities...
