Forgive me if someone has seen a similar post before, and feel free to point me in the right direction. I have an 06 cabrio (october build I think). The other day I decided to use the key nook, but I couldnt find it. I can see a little door, but it seems to be more of a access door to a body bolt and I can reach around the plactic and feel the other side of the door. Is it just a matter of getting my MINI on a lift so that I can see it? Or is the key nook only on the hatchaback? Thanks
I suspect they are talking about the space under the car in front of the rear wheel-well...a small ledge in the structure that can serve as a key stash. I remember reading about it in some unofficial-MINI guide some time ago.
Perhaps on the Cab this area is boxed for rigidity?
The cabrio has the same key nook as the tintop, but it's only a small ledge with a VERY short lip around it. It's not a secret compartment with a door, and anything left in there would quickly bounce out if you drove away.
